We look forward to hearing from you!

In such event, it shall not constitute a breach of copyright or confidentiality.

The Really Really Rude Puppet Show

I mean, even a sketch about Meghan Markle dressed in leather whipping a naked Piers Morgan would end up being trashed by the newspapers. Why subject celebrities to more hatred than they already get.

ETA: I was already depressed before reading this thread.

Reported. The site can decide.

Edit: Manu's response below is acknowledged.

Maybe next time, threads allowed by the site that breach a site policy (no email addresses allowed) should state that fact. Save everyone time.

The Really Really Rude Puppet Show

I had a look at the T&Cs, but I couldn't find any mention of pay rates. Is that an oversight or are you expecting people to contribute for free?

@Bramblethorn
It's probably the standard "you can count yourself lucky if we attribute your submission to your name" kind of exposure nonsense. I mean, hiring staff writers is kinda expensive and TV stations aren't making any money these days. Otherwise there would be better shows than the 976th reality drek cooked on two sixpacks of beer and a pack of crisps.

Hmm. My thought is we have our own cadre of not-so-creative writers banging about on LitE. Will they do?

Gawd, yes, this is spam.

The thread starter contacted Lit Support and got approval to post this before they posted it. You should verify details yourself before signing any agreements, as always, but it sounded interesting enough that we thought it was okay to be shared. Thank you for the reports. :D

@Aliceharp Your clauses 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 are slightly counterintuitive. What do you think will happen if you air an episode detailing the lurid adventures of The Queen and her favourite stallion (either the two- or four-legged variety)?

The likelyhood of impending libel cases is practically a hundred percent. That should have been kinda obvious the moment the words "erotic celeb fanfic" got stapled together.

So... they want me to provide my real name and address to go with political smut, with some very nebulous terms and conditions where it claims you need to leave boxes blank to avoid being put on lots of mailing lists but it's impossible to accept the T&C's without ticking all the mandatory boxes.

And for what? Publicity?

You probably would have gotten more interest if you talked about pay or rewards. People don't usually work for free unless they're already attached to a project in some way. Maybe it's just me but this sort of feels like ''Let's go poke the degenerate erotic fiction writers, they'll surely give us what we want without asking for anything in return.''

The fact that you also refuse to engage in the thread and keep directing responses to use your email - where it can be seen only by you and them - is also somewhat questionable IMO.

Hashtag professionally outraged
I was thinking of Donald Trump with those Russian prostitutes (water sports and spanking, I think?). Probably it did happen that way. I would only write it as fiction, changing details such as which country this took place in and what the main character did to make money.

My problem with all of this kind of work is that it starts to get people's nastier RL sides involved. Even when it's figures I dislike, I'd rather not see things go down the route of political or celebrity fan-fic.

I have enough fighting with people over these topics in the rest of my life, and erotica is where I wish I could not have to have them get dragged in as well. I'm very grateful this forum has a politics forum - so I can ignore it. On some other erotica forums I'm dealing with people constantly dragging topics through forum posts or stories that are 'thinly veiled attacks' in to slam their target of choice - be it a state, country, politician, celebrity, etc. and it makes it very un-fun to be in those communities even when the target is one I also disdain - I just don't want to find myself being in an argument with people who I would otherwise be able to get along with.

Without political rhetoric purposefully driving us apart, people tend to be in agreement on political and social issue about 80% of time, with the remainder often being smaller minor things. People seeking power or influence find wedge issues and create situations to drive them up and rile up our anger because turning us all against each other gives them power.

And I'm just sick of it.

My own views are by instinct pretty far to one side of things, as I've gotten older I've tempered them with a dose of reality checking (studying how so many movements end in disaster when people fail to compromise is sobering) and a desire to try and understand.

So I'd rather we NOT see stories that drive people into their corners yelling at each other.

If for no other reason, that's why I would be unable to support a project like this one. Even as they wish to do it with celebrities, the end result is pretty much the same in an era where we're now picking our celebrities to like based on our political camps.

American libel law is generally quite loose for obvious parodies. (See Falwell v. Hustler Magazine; I probably got the order wrong, but it's easy to find it.) British law is supposedly tighter but I know nothing about it

How is it "Factual" and "Fiction" at the same time? Is Factual the British term for Reality TV?

Either way I don't do Celebrity stuff (Well I haven't yet.) so this is for others to jump at or not.

this might be all fictitious anyway i think
It reminds me of a video I watched about a reporter who reached out to a bunch of artists about doing a "Music of the Ocean" thing. Where he got them to create a bunch of music and submit it to him/his company where they would split the profits if it (and I'm not exactly remembering it perfectly here) got put into the documentary or something like that. Either way the guy who asked for the submissions has released it on a few music selling sites and has made a really decent amount of money off of it. But because how he worded the contract the creators only got money if the doc got made and sold (or something like that) because he never bothered to make it, they aren't getting any money.

In my "Fan Fiction" of this post I'm thinking that is what is going to happen. Somebody is building an Amazon ebook that they'll make all the profits on because... Oops, it never made it to a TV show but you signed away the rights to it.

Personally I would avoid political figures like the plague because no matter the content or intent its going to whip up the unhinged people who live to be 'triggered'

I'm not the fan fic type in general, only one I'd be interested in I know would never fly and that's to write stories where professional rapists, I mean football players get found carved up and eviscerated in very creative ways.
