Calling all authors...

I thought of something fun we can do for each other to help promote our works. There is a tab in our biographies on the main site that says, "Favorites."

I have added a few folks there: http://www.literotica.com:81/stories/memberpage.php?uid=265126&page=favorites

and would be happy to add more! I would hope that folks reciprocate for each other -- there are so many great stories out there -- I would love to hear from everyone what their favorites are, what their personal favorite ones they've written as I am always looking for great stories!

Thanks for reading! If you think this idea sucks you can tell me that as well, I won't cry. :)

I think it's a great idea... I know there are so many good stories on Lit that I will never read because it's just too much to sort through.

Unfortunately I can't remember the name of my favorite, but I have it printed somewhere. I will post it as soon as it turns up! :)

Guess I will have to start using the Favorites tab...

That was my issue -- the sorting through thousands. I just figure we have such a creative community right here, would be great to show it off a bit! :)

I think that's an awesome idea. I'll add you, if you add me! :D

Actually I know that when I find an author I like, the first thing I do (after reading everything s/he has) is check to see if they have a favorites list.

LOL, well it is a good idea in some way, but then it also sort of backfires if it is to be as a representation of what anyone thinks is good if listing someone is based solely on their listing you as a favourite of theirs. They could be excellent writers and I could stink or vice versa if you catch my drift. I actually love that feature and began adding writers I enjoyed from when it was first introduced (though time has not permitted much reading and/or adding lately), but didn't notify anyone I had listed them in my list as I had already given my appreciation in voting their stories and for some, plugging in the Shameless Plug thread and felt if I wrote them about listing them they may feel compelled to list us too whether they liked my writing or not and I didn't want that basis for their recognition of us and our writing. Just the way I am wired but I want to know when I am listed on a favourites list it must be for our writing (ITO), not as a favour or payback....makes the kick real fine. :)

I have to agree with Catalina. If someone listed me on their favorites list, I would want it to be because my poetry touched them.

Well for me, it is because the stories do touch me. I have read all of them, including graceanne's and anyone who is on my list has genuinely touched me in the way they write. :)

Well, I've read Malcah's story and thought it was great, so I added her to my favorites.

Honestly rarely occurs to me to add people to my fav lists. Will have to do that more.

I wasn't planning on just adding names. I read malcah's stuff to make sure that I liked it before making the offer.

Yep! I think adding a name for the sake of adding isn't what I was trying to get at -- sorry! But, in our little community here, if we are touched by someone's writing, we should add it -- just cause we can always use all the support we can. :) thanks Grace! I personally really dig your stories very much. :)

Oh my goodness, you put my Wicked Queen story on there! I thought that was dead and buried.

I'm actually working on part 2 -- have been for a while. But it's turning more into a Fantasy novel than a BDSM one.

That was also the story I ran past a friend to edit AFTER I published it... the edited version was much better! I've since learnt the value of having someone else edit my stories.

I enjoyed it very much :) Surprise! :) I actually have been really enjoying everyone's stories so much! I love to read as much as I can because it allows me to see the world through others. Thank you. :)

You know, someone brought up to me an interesting point, so I thought I would clarify this idea of mine. The idea I presented here isn't a "pat-your-pal" on the back offer.

The reason I said, "you got a deal" to graceanne was a nicety -- a grateful thank you as it were. I happen to enjoy her stories very much -- they are right up my alley.

The whole idea I felt is that if you like someone's writing, genuinely, that their writing moves you, why not add them to your favorites? That's all :) There isn't any clique thing going on or some alterior motive for this. Just thought I would mention that. Heck I don't even belong to any clique.

I happened to stumble upon the favorites tab and thought it a pretty nifty feature. I am sorry if I gave the wrong impression or caused some feathers to get ruffled. Certainly wasn't the intent. :)

Anyone who checks out my favourites tab will see I've done much the same thing. Ever since they added that feature, in fact! I agree, it's a good idea.

Hope you have not had any behind the scenes flack for your thoughts....certainly didn't ruffle my feathers (looks to check they are all preened and pretty), just presented my thoughts and personal preferences. I haven't read a lot of the forum regular's stories as I usually do a haphazard search to see what is out there, stimulate new thought etc. Don't know, perhaps I was afraid of knowing what to expect based on people being regular posters, though that needn't necessarily be so. The ones I have read have been good.

I got a little flack but that was to be expected. I didn't even really mind it cause that person is entitled to their opinion and I am open-minded enough to listen and respond rationally. Even if that person doesn't think their opinion matters here, it does. So thank you to that person, I needed to clarify my intent here anyway :)
