Hello, everyone.
I am switching from satellite to cable Internet next week, because I am fed up with the draconian fair access policy of my current ISP and also I would like to be able to play online games.
Unfortunately, the ISP I am switching to imposes a mandatory filter on their users that blocks access to pornographic websites. I'm assuming that it will block access to other stuff as well, for example something like 4chan or anything else that may contain adult content or anything else that they don't like.
How can I bypass this ridiculous filter and access the sites they have blocked while hiding my access of those sites from my ISP?
Keep in mind that I know next to nothing about this sort of thing, having never been confronted with this situation before (honestly, I didn't even know that there were ISPs in the United States that actually did this sort of thing. It's certainly news to me!), so I'll need detailed explanations on what my options are and how to actually go about using them to circumvent the filter.
Also, I am on a Mac so if there is any software I need to download and install it needs to be compatible with OS X.
Thanks in advance, and I hope this was the right place for this sort of question.
