Every recovering alcoholic or drug addict knows what that is. It's called "euphoric recall", remembering only the good things and ignoring the bad things. Everything he said about the 50's was true, but was not ALL oof the truth. Additionally, this is from the perspective of a child in the 50's. I remember those things he's talking about, but I also remember a lot of really bad things too, pedophiles, children raped by them and more. I pity anyone who has such a myopic view of the world, or history, they can't see the whole of it. They are the ones who are, or will be, responsible for repeating what should never be repeated.
