What kind of things need to be considered when buying a glass or metal dildo and are there pros and cons of each?

I have not tried a glass one, but a metal one is wonderful... it is weighty, unbreakable, and retains heat (or can be shockingly cold). And, while hopefully never needed, it can double as a weapon.

Glass can break. They should be shatterproof but you don't want the flange breaking off.

Also many glass ones don't have a large enough flange to stop them getting sucked in. I know a guy who had to go to A&E (the ER) when a glass butt plug vanished. They managed to lasso it with a cable eventually, but they'd been considering surgery.

So no glass in the arse. They can look pretty though. Don't give yourself/anyone else freezer burn with either - rinse with water so they aren't actually going to freeze delicate tissues.

Metal has a nice weight to it and can come with an integral loop for rope to hold it in place. Otherwise might as well stick to hard plastic if you want something hard. Much cheaper, and are you seriously going to store a glass or metal dildo on your mantelpiece pretending it's an ornament?
