They have to ignore the facts and promote lies in order to operate in the market of ideas.

Well, if we cant get this obvious Russian troll/bot to stop posting, then at least he can admit that yes, there was Russian interference in the 2016 election (even the Russians themselves have admitted as much.)

And this is exactly what Russian bots and forum trolls do- distort the facts, downplay the facts, and even spread outright lies (long after they have been debunked) in an attempt to sway public opionion towards furthering Russia's goals- whether it is to support the invasion of Ukraine, or undermine democratic values and promote totalitarian ones, or to support policies that undermine American economic prosperity.

Which is exactly why, if Rightguide were posting on my forums, I would have ban-hammered him without mercy long ago.
 
People have been prosecuted and incarcerated for the Trump collusion with the Russians in the 2016 elections (and in many other ways since). it just hasn't happened to Trump himself yet. He's instigated it and benefited from it and, so far, others have taken the fall that's rightfully his for it.
