By now we've all heard about Hillary Clinton's stupid use of a personal email server. After all, after several investigations by the FBI and no indictments, it's all Republicans can talk about since she didn't violate any laws (violating good judgement is another matter).

What you probably haven't heard about is how two individuals in the White House who have direct contact with the con artist have been using personal email accounts and unsecured apps to communicate with foreign leaders and conduct government business. Obviously this isn't a big deal since Senator Lindsey Graham hasn't asked for an investigation of these breaches of national security, but the matter bears an outing nonetheless.

In a Thursday letter to the White House, the Maryland Democrat [Elijah Cummings] alleged that Jared Kushner, who is also a senior White House adviser, had been using WhatsApp, a popular messaging application, to "communicate with foreign leaders" -- something he said that Kushner's attorney had confirmed in a private meeting. He also contended that Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, also a senior adviser, may be in violation of the Presidential Records Act by her use of private emails.

First, WhatsApp has touted itself from other messaging apps by saying it uses end-to-end encryption which is supposed to guard the contents of those messages. We know Kushner has been in communication with the man who ordered the murder and dismemberment of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi using WhatsApp.

According to Cummings, when pressed how Kushner was backing up his communications in order to assure that he wasn't violating the Presidential Records Act, Lowell [Kushner's attorney] responded that Kushner took screenshots and forwarded them to his official White House email account or to the National Security Council. According to Cummings, when Lowell was asked if Kushner ever communicated classified information on WhatsApp, Lowell responded, "That's above my paygrade."

It should also be noted WhatsApp is owned by Facebook. WhatsApp stores the call times, location and other metadata of its users' chats, which means they're held by Facebook. As far as we know, Facebook has never had a security breach of leaked personal or other information. Never. It's as secure as Fort Knox.

As to the emails, in 2017 it was revealed the daughter of the con artist had been using a personal email account to communicate with high ranking government officials about government operations. When informed she might be in violation of several laws for using unprotected communications as well as failing to store such communications, the daughter responded, "I didn't know."

When pressed on the matter that the daughter was still using a personal email account to conduct government business, Lowell responded, she "always" forwards emails to her official account. This highly secure method of protecting emails, if not already known, should be sent to Microsoft, Google and every other email provider.

In the meantime, Lindsey Graham, either deliberately oblivious or not caring about the massive corruption endemic in the White House and the economy which is approaching a new recession, has steadfastly held ground and wants to know about the several investigations into Hillary's emails and why she wasn't charged. When asked about these two officials using public email for government business, Senator Graham responded, "Who the fuck cares? What about Hillary?"

i'm hoping they do reopen the hillary investigation. it is a glaring precedent that will lead the democrats right back to ivanka, jared and the rest of the dingbats. bring it on, lindsay.

'I know nothing about it': Trump denies any knowledge of Jared, Ivanka using personal email accounts

March 22, 2019

After filling an entire election cycle with "Lock Her Up!" chants over Hillary Clinton's personal email use, Donald Trump is denying knowing anything about allegations that his daughter and son-in-law have used personal email accounts for official White House business.

“I know nothing about it," Trump told reporters Friday on the South Lawn of the White House, 24 hours after Rep. Elijah Cummings queried the White House counsel on the issue. "I’ve never heard that. I’ve never heard about it.”

Remember in January when Trump told the New York Times that he had absolutely nothing to do with approval of Kushner's sketchy top-secret security clearance? "I don’t think I have the authority to do that. ... But I wouldn't. I wouldn't do it. ... I was never involved with the security. ... I don't want to get involved in that stuff. ... I have the right to do it, but I never thought it was necessary, Maggie [Haberman]. I never thought it was necessary."

Then the Times reported in February that Trump had personally approved Kushner’s clearance over the objections of career intelligence officials, and then several days later Kellyanne Conway started peddling Trump's "absolute right" to approve Kushner's clearance. Then we learned he reportedly also interfered in order to get Ivanka’s clearance approved.
