Yes, seriously. Have you read any U.S. history? The French supplied the colonies during the American Revolution, and if Lafayette hadn't relieved Virginia, Richmond would have been occupied (it actually did fall, but Lafayette caused Benedict Arnold to quickly pull back to Hampton Roads), the largest colony would have collapsed, and there would have been no war-ending Battle of Yorktown. Again, have you read any U.S. history?

The American Revolution was a side-show in Britain's wars with France. France was a more serious threat than the American forces.

Without France, the British (and German) forces might eventually have won in America, but it would have been a pointless victory. The 13 Colonies would eventually have achieved independence. It would have taken decades more.
