This morning the wife and I were heading out the door to do some shopping when I almost ran over a cop. (He was coming up my front stairs as I opened the door.) I was told to get back inside and stay there. (Huh?) When I asked what was up the cop told me to mind my own business and just do as I'm told.
I'm sure you can guess that didn't go over very well with me. I told the cop it was my business if there was something going on that potentialy put my wife's or my safety at risk. He kind of huffed and told me someone was robbing the bank next to the park, then he left.
A short while later the same cop came back around to inform everyone that they could come out of their places, the lockdown was over. He shook his head when he saw me sitting up on my roof. He asked if I had happened to see some guy wearing a black jacket. I told him if I had seen anyone other than a cop moving around he would have heard quickly.
On our way home from doing our shopping we were waved away from the park entrance. I pulled into the parking lot across the street and quickly saw what the problem was. Someone driving a "Smart Car" had lost control and rolled the car right in the entrance to the park blocking it. (Man was that car beat up. It looked like a Beer Can someone had run over.)
Thankfully Rescue was already on scene and I didn't have to render Aide.
Also thankfully the rest of the day passed quietly as the wife and I hung Christmas Lights.
