Business Trip Fun

Erika Smith had just joined an insurance company about five months ago. She was a few years out of college, quiet and relatively kept to herself. Most of the females thought she was a total bitch but the truth was, she was a bit of a nerd, did her work and went home. She didn't really involve herself in the office politics. She produced good numbers so she was good in the eyes of her bosses. When her boss needed her to go on a business trip with a co-worker, she was surprised she was asked but willing to do it.

Her co-worker was a married guy but he was always nice to her whenever they came into contact. After a long day of traveling, picking up their rental car, they got to the hotel. Unfortunately, there was only one room available. She wasn't thrilled with the idea but she'd make do with what they had for now. She put her suitcase in the corner of the bedroom.

"You can pick whichever bed you want." She said softly

God, I hate these trips. He idly ran his hand this his short brown hair at his coworker's question, just wanting a chance to get out of the grey suit that didn't seem to agree with this city's weather.

It wasn't the work that Randall 'Randy' Burke hated. While no job was perfect, he was reasonably content with the work he got to do most of the time, the people he worked with, and the office environment; politics and backstabbing aside. The pay was good enough, and he'd managed to get himself into a position to move up if he did well enough over the next few weeks. There was a person one level up retiring and he was hoping to take his spot.

If anything, the opportunity to get away from his home for a while was a welcome balm. His wife had become increasingly inattentive both physically and emotionally as of late, and Randy suspected it was the long hours he'd put in over the last few weeks, preparing for this trip. Her suspicions about him having an affair, ironically enough, had probably driven his thoughts for the first time about actually having one. With few single women in his social circle that he had any interest in, idle thoughts had turned to his coworkers.

But not like this. He wasn't supposed to even go on this trip, with a couple of things happening to force him to partake in this meeting that he was supposed to only manipulate behind the scenes. And with HR, his boss, or whoever screwing things up so they only had one room, well...if he had wanted to start fooling around, this would be the time to do it.

And it wasn't as if Erika wasn't unattractive. Quite the opposite, in Randy's eyes, although she could do with letting loose once in a while; her antisocial manner seeming to cool any advances coming from anyone in the office. Still, there was work to do, and Randy eased his way past her.

"I'll take the one farther from the window." He hoped this hotel was less noisy then some he had been to, and he turned to her. "Bathroom's yours for now, if you want it." A favor for her letting him pick his bed. Even if he had no idea how something so innocuous would end up turning into something much more before their stay was over...
