I am sitting here watching this hideous display. Yes, I am talking about this inauguration. I am so disturbed by the fact that this man... who can barely speak without fumble, who looks so severe and cynical, is being sworn in to our most hollowed office. Honestly, I don't even think out president-elect can spell inauguration. Does it bother anyone that he seems to be dumb as a stump. Just one of the many things I think of while I am up late...or up early...

Eh..

I hated W. I just hated Gore more. My personal opinion is that everyone should quit bitching about who won, at least until the man DOES something worth bitching about besides winning an election. *wry smile*

But hey, I'm just a kid.

Pardon me, severe and cynical? Are we watching the same thing? Yes, at times he can seem serious, but this is a serious event. He is mostly known for his grin. Which I saw today, often.
Maybe we are watching different channels.

Maybe a sat score of over 1200, and a mba from harvard doesn't make him an intellectual, but the boss doesn't have to be the smartest man in the world. Sometimes I wonder about the credentials of the people that claim he's dumb. Remember the fervor before the debates of how gore would bury him?

Look, what I said at the beginning of the thread is just my opinion. I am just stating how I feel about W. from my own perspective. As far as his grin..to me it looks like a grimace..like he doesn't know how to really smile and that is his poor attempt. As far as him not being the smartest man in the world..well ya know I think our president should be smart. He should be able to speak in public without mumbling and floundering. He does not ennunciate his words at all..again in my opinion. I am from Texas and I ennunciate, so I won't accept that is his "dialect". Anyhow, I just don't like him from the vibe I get from him. I didn't like his father either. I don't want to offend anyone but these are just my opinions just as ya'll have yours. Plain and simple I just don't like him and judging from all the hissing and booing going on while he was driving down the sreet, I don't think I am the only one that feels that way

No you aren't the only one. I respect you for your opinion, and defend your right to have it. Was just stating mine too, but only about his smile. Here's another one. Most politicians have that fakey plastic smile. It is largely due to having to constantly keep it on their faces. Must be tough. I couldn't do it, especially with cameras shoved in my face. Would most likely end up flipping one or two off, or, more likely, giving one the rasberry for fun.
Cannot help but wonder, as many do, what Gore was really thinking. But, like his politics or not, he was gracious, as befitted his office and upbringing.

How does, "Dumb as a stump," win the US presidency unless collectively, we are dumber than a stump.

LOl..well said. But I DID NOT vote for him. It is pretty scarey though. I too would probably flip people off if I had cameras shoved in my face. I couldn't behave if I was in the public eye..but hey that's why I'm not.

I saw Bushy on 20/20 and I could not believe what he said

:p

Just to make sure my english education was not lacking I looked up Expect

:p

The display of the inauguration doesn't bother me. Every President thows a big Bash.

What bothers me is what is likely to follow the party.
What bothers me, too, is that people were willing to actually vote for this monkey.

Hey, if he was making up words, then he is speaking American. Don't tell me you have never heard anyone make up words before, whether on purpose or by accident. Educated or not.

Yes, but don't pretend it is a word already.

:p

Is there anyway I can find out the sentance he used it in? Just curious.
Siren, troll me anytime.
Is it possible he said expeditious? Or he said it wrong and meant that.

Here is the sentence he used Merelan.........

:p

Well I am gonna throw my hat in the ringie about this Bush bashing.........I for one did NOT want Gore's stupid ass in the office, he is an even worse bumbling idiot. Lessor of two evils in my eyes. The man I wanted to really run, won't run. And the shame of it is this, You are bashing Dubba already and he has not done anything YET, I mean maybe he is not the "well spoken" guy you think the President should be, but he got to where is for doing something right? He must have done something right? (Besides being his fathers son)........but I am just glad that the Clinton Era is ending, what a sham his office was. Clinton kept status quo and cut our military down to nothingness.........and took credit for alot of things which he had absoulutely nothing to do with........okay I am off the soapbox now.

Thank you for helping me understand. Oops... it does look like he misspoke. Wasn't the first time, won't be the last.

Such dreary weather for an inauguration. It's almost... ominous....

Yea, the weather is real bad it is

making me feel real expectaeuous about
my 5 year term as leader of the Texas, um
I mean the Americas, um I mean The U.S. of
...what is that last letter again>?

Where were all of the black and hispanic and asian people during this charade.. I mean parade.

All I say was white folks.

Not suprising. He's a republican.

Gore won, don't change the facts. Bush was appointed by his daddy's court. He was not elected, nor will he ever be.

Doing something? Like using his brother's influence and his father's Supreme Court to overturn the will of the people. Yeah, I don't know why a majority of American's voted against him when he does things that go against the very fabric of what America stands for. Bush has already committed crimes that undermine our govenment and our county far worse than Clinton ever dreamed of. Clinton got elected, then he got a blow job and lied about it. Bush was never elected, then he turned the Supreme Court into a political tool to overturn the will of the American voters. If you don't see a problem with this, then it is because you simply choose not to. Bush is pure evil and corrupt through and through.

Wondered where all the trolls went. Here you are. Geesh. Siren made a thread just for you and you all ignored it.
Oh well.

Get used to it, kiddies. You have four years of this idiot to look forward to. Wouldn't be surprised if he and the missus try to shut sites like this down, either. Not that he disapproves of these kind of sites, I am sure he would fit in well.

But the people who got him elected... :) well, that's another story. :)

I didn't vote for Bush but like it or not he is now our President. Any doubts I have about his abilities to lead this country are set aside until he actually does something to justify those doubts. If perfection is required to be President then only perfect people can be elected, assuming such a person exists.

As for his questionable use of English, he needs to have his speechwriters tone it down to his comfort level. If you can't speak eloquently, don't even try. Keep it simple. A good ol' boy from Texas should sound like one. I think back to when Bob Dole ran for President. He came across as the stereotypical Republican candidate; serious, stone-faced and old beyond his years. After he lost the election and had no job to go back to he "retired" and started doing commercials and appeared on talk shows. He was smiling, cracking jokes at himself, and generally an all-around nice guy. Where was this persona during the election? It was covered up with the facade his handlers thought he should show. Maybe it is time to judge our politicians for their real character traits and not what the spin-doctors try to dazzle us with.

Maybe GWB really is a buffoon, but I prefer to let someone screw up BEFORE I crucify them.
