Bush not the worst Pres. Scolars say.

You proved my point. Everything you mentioned was always in the news. You were brainwashed, my friend.

Ummm, no. Being "in the news" doesn't ipso facto make it untrue. I think you have it a bit wrong on who is brainwashed here.

An Intresting change of words.

"Jefferson's First Draft"

"The Library of Congress has just released the results of a study of the first draft of the Declaration of Independence which shows that Jefferson first used the monarchical "subjects" to refer to the American people before erasing it and replacing it with the republican "citizens", which he used throughout. "

I suppose it shows the transition of protesting subject to free citizens that the Declaration of Independence expressed?

Yeah, saw that. And he didn't mean what people now think he meant about the phrase "pursuit of happiness" either. In his day, that was about landowners keeping what they had (which was just about the whole ball of wax) and others not becoming landowners. The later French Revolution changed his perspective some on that (but he certainly kept all he had--and a lot that he borrowed and didn't pay back beyond the grave).

It's interesting to see him so high on the "effective presidents" list. They certainly didn't think so at the time. He was painfully indecisive--and the Louisiana Purchase was his main contribution and that fell in his lap and he wanted it more for personal than national reasons.
