I had a request to show my horses' pictures. Rather than trying to upload them all somewhere and wait for them to send, I decided to just start a thread about them. They are my pride and joy, and I love them like most people love their children. I'm actually a little bit too proud-parent-like at times.

Anyway, without further ado...click to make larger...

Ok, that's the end of my brag for the day. I apologize for the quality of some of the pictures. The first two are professionally done, and the other three are obviously not, LOL. If anyone else has horse (or other animal pics) they'd like to post, please do, so I don't feel like a total dork for bragging on my babies.

What besutiful animals. You should be proud.

While I have never seen a TWH in person, I have lots of family on my dads side in Shelbyville, TN. I remember going to my grandmas and driving by a show ring there. I think my uncle might have shown them.

That ain't no little bitty dinky show ring. ;) That's the Celebration grounds, where the World Championships are held every year the ten days prior to the Saturday before Labor Day. The TWH World Grand Champion is crowned the last Saturday night. I only wish I had enough time to ride my horses like I should, so I could have a shot at going myself soon.

Your horses are gorgous BB and you look fabulous riding them. How long have you ridden and how do you keep with five horses???

In keeping with the horse theme..My daughter has recently started taking lessons and now it looks like we will be going to our first show in a month. eek!

Thank you! I meant to tell you the other day that pic of your daughter on the horse was great, but I think I got distracted. My family has had horses my whole life, and I started competing when I was 11. So I've been doing it for more than half my life. If it weren't for my parents, I couldn't keep my boys and girls. There's no way I could afford to have even one of them at school with me, so I keep them at home. Mother and Daddy take care of them (and we have someone to feed them for us during the week, since Daddy's a long-distance truck driver, and Mother's got her mother with Alzheimer's to deal with).

Good luck to your daughter in her first show. If you need some general advice on how to deal, let me know. She's doing huntseat, isn't she? I've always wanted to try huntseat, but saddleseat was my first love and always will be. I love my Walking Horses! :)

Thanks to everybody else for your kind words, too. I miss my ponies when I'm not close to them, so I like to look at their pics (and share them, too, apparently).

Thank you for sharing your horses, Bunny! I agree with others - they are stupendous and you look lovely riding them. :D Neon

Thanks Bunny. Yes, she is doing hunt seat but she's only been taking lessons for a month so we are nowhere near jumping yet. She'll be in a walk/trot class for the show.

I may PM you for advice. I am clueless about horse shows! We are going with her instructor but so are 5 other riders from the barn so she won't be able to babysit us. I just don't want to be a dumb parent and do something stupid! LOL

You are fortunate to have a place to keep your horses, even if you can't be near them during school. I'll bet you spend a lot of time in the saddle when you are home.

I'll be glad to help if I can. Like I said, I can't tell you anything that's discipline-specific because I don't do huntseat, but I can help you out with the general things. The worst part is watching, I tell you. I can ride in front of hundreds of people and not get nervous at all, but if Mother or Daddy are riding, I'm a wreck. I have to stay away from them to keep it from transferring to them or the horses, LOL. I suggest either Xanax or good, strong whiskey. :p

And I'm very lucky to have somewhere to keep my boys and girls. I do spend lots and lots of time with them when I'm at home. I was supposed to show tomorrow, but since the show is at 2:00, and it's supposed to be in the 100s, we decided to skip that one, lest either horses or riders (or both) keel over dead!

Yes, gorgeous horses! Ive been riding for nearly 1/2 my life as well. I have a 20 yr old Palomino grade gelding- Calypso. I dont ride as much now as I used to, and I was never cut out for showing. TWH's are gorgeous- such refined heads. Thanks for sharing your hoofed- children w/ us.
