Bungee jumping....

I'd sooner do the 'out and down' thing than the 'off and down..and up..and down...and up again' thing *puke* :D

I just watched a movie where they bungee jumped off a bridge in the mountains and that made me feel ready to puke. I don't understand wanting to do that. I know some people love it.

Never understood the attraction myself but i think it has something to do with an adrenaline rush and the release of serotonin and dopamine in your brain. :):rose:

Some folk just need to live on the edge. I think they're addicts. They can be fantastic people, but they love to put themselves in harms way. Sometimes, they don't survive. I've lost a couple good friends who were expert paddlers to whitewater rivers where they pushed the limits to where you could not make an error.

Like to quote one of my commanding officers who had flown combat during WW2 ,when asked if he wanted to join a group for a charity parachute jump he said " I see no purpose in leaving a perfectly servicable aircraft ,

I’ve bungeed 3 times, and tandem dived twice.
That ain’t nothing compared to those dudes in wingsuits flying down mountains just a few feet away from the cliff edge.

Did not like scuba diving tho, the masks and gear made me super anxious. I never even left the training pool. I’d rather snorkel.

Oh my Goodness! I looked up wingsuits and watched a couple jumps on you tube. I never knew that existed.

I tried to snorkel and wasn't able to do it. I kept sucking in water somehow.

Snorkeling is huge fun.

You can keep the wingsuits.

I saw on a program called "Key Hole" back in the late 50s or early 60s where people from a third world country were leaping from trees with vines wrapped around their ankles. In some cases the guys would end up with a dislocated hip. Not my idea of fun.

Wow! That is amazing!

Yea it's pretty fun.

Dude...the wingsuit shit is nuts, I have a buddy back in CA who is big into that, folks die ALL the time doing that shit.

This is the 21st century equivalent of a

Nantucket Sleigh Ride.

Whew....only time I saw something like that happen homie got his arm pulled out of it's socket and thrashed about till it was a total mess.

I was always a bit more anxious about jumping from black hawks after that....shithooks to a lesser extent but still.

Yeah, those guys are crazy! I was reading some article awhile back; the interviewer asked a wingsuit guy why he didn’t go-pro his flights and he said he didn’t want to inspire anyone to get into the hobby bc it is so dangerous. He also talked about how much he trained, you have to be really strong to work those suits.
