Maybe Xander...
Has it been decided where everyone has been for the last five years? (I haven't watched enough Angel to know if anyone has been dropping hints).
I might be interested in being Xander, but the appeal of being a "nice" demon (like, say... a Pooka) is also there. I tend to write longish posts... so that might be good for a Xander is such a loser rant but not so good for a Xander one-liner.

aww welcome, you may make him how ever you like, I know after the whole buffy show and even angel (was talked about a couple times) Not much is known BUT on wiki it said the gang including xander lived in italy with gails (Think I spelt that wrong lol) so was thinking Italy but a job calls the gang back to help the innocent, or if you or anyone else has ideas im more for ideas

Heh, I'm sure there are innocents in Italy. Not sure where to find them, tho.
Okay, pencil me in for Xander, but if a good writer comes along and wants to play him before I work up a history, take him. I just gotta think on the whole tragedy/pathos/comedy thing that we know as Xander and see what five years would bring to that.

History: Xander kicked around for a year or two after Sunnydale Souffle fell with Buffy and Company. Met a girl who was a werewolf and then a girl who turned out to be Selkie (and that was alright, but she wanted it as a seal and a guy just has to draw a line somewhere) and then another demon trapped in female human flesh... Gosh, Xander was really sorry he had drawn a line previously. He tried Italy and there he met, well, a guy... and really, that was the end of Xander as far as the Scoobies were concerned.
No, Xander didn't turn gay, but the joke that his lovers are never simple women (or even simply women) had turned sour and too close to the truth, so he tried. They'd never actually had sex but the once. His friend saw the Xander was not into him all that much, but he decided to take Xander under his wing.
Yes, within two years the transformation was complete: Alexander Harris, metrosexual and high-priced architectual consultant for TYPED, a high-end chain store of mens shirts that average in the price range of $250 us. Think PINK. His new social circles kept him busy but very few got close, certainly there were rumours which he would never confirm. He had fun, it kept him safe.
Then there was Merry Purehart, producer for the hit series, Elimination Runway. They met on location last year in his store #563 (Manhatten) for her episode #306 (Mens Wear). Things bloomed quickly, but Alexander held back, although he did allow Merry to take over his life in little ways. The eye patch, gone. They do such marvelous things with glass these days. The goatee, gone. You have such a strong chin! The sterling self-confidence, gone... bit-by-bit. Don't be a phoney, Alex dear, people can tell.
When the IC starts, Alexander's friend is going to let him know that he's been backsliding. Alexander is going to have a minor confrontation with Merry, pretty much just begging her to prove that she's a normal girl. "But, I'm not, I'm a television producer." Alexander will open up to her completely but she won't believe him, and she'll stalk off... right under the wheels of a runaway bus.
At least, that's what I think tonight. How's that sound to you?

I'm tryingt o figure out how to paly Darla since she died in an Angel episode during the birth of thier son.
Maybe another one of those spells like Wolfram and Hart had to bring her back in the first place but something else
