Brushes with Famous People...

I've met Everclear twice (have a signed shrit and guitar pick) Dave Grohl, Natalie Merchant, Cece DeVille from Poison :) and Freddie Prinze Jr. Not that I'm starstruck and keeping track or anything...

No one! Not a one. :( Dudley Moore signed my sister's hand in an airport (he was carrying his own bags). My husband met Aerosmith on a plane and got a 5 block ride from them (cool limo). Me...nada.

I've drawn house plans for two local TV news anchors and for one former University of Louisville Football coach who now resides in Miami. During the design process of the footballs couch's house, his wife made a pass at me in the builders office.

Sorry, for obvious reasons, I'm not using names but the coach could be figured out.

Came back because I remembered two more. I've drawn houses also for a former NBA and a former NFL player.

I used to rub shoulders with famous people all the time...

I've flirted with the martial artists who played the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's in the first movie (they came to promote at the theatre where I worked as a teenager...very cute, but short!), have close family friends with a former talk show host in San Diego, met the Kids In The Hall and have pictures with Scott and Dave (then we followed them to a bar and watched Dave get it on with this little girl in the JOHN!), sold Joe Pesci a movie ticket when he was in town filming a movie, probably met half the Bull's and the Bear's that way too...Michael Jordan is a CHEAPSKATE! My mother used to work for a dry cleaners and brought home a guitar pick & nail clippers from one of ZZ Tops pants pocket.

I knew a girl in Louisville who was the aunt to Billy Ray Cyrus' illegitimate kid.

Okay so those don't really count BUT.....

When my husband first became a police officer 5 years ago, he came home one day and asked me if I had ever heard of a band called 98* , at that time I was not as cool as I am now  so I didn't really know who they were but I had heard of them, anyway.............that was back when they were still driving themselves and he pulled them over for some traffic violation and found weed on one of them. If we were really scummy people we probably could have sold that to the tabloids

I once Kurt Russell When he was making the Thing. Him and his wife were shopping for table cloths and needed 3 to fit there dinning room table. When he came to pay he asked if we would take a check. the woman I was working with wouldn't because it was an out of town check.
Hell I almost fell over when she did that. But he just pulled out 5 $100's and payed .
When they went out the door she says he looked familiar. LOL
I could slapped her beside the head.
I watched the movie 11 times when it came out .LOL

I waved at Robert Redford once...

...across a crowded street and he waved back.

But it must have a reflex action.

I don't think he really knew who I was.:D

i sat next to John Waters in an airport waiting lounge once. I asked him if he recognized me, which he didn't, even though i was a face in the crowd in Cry Baby, which was shot in the Baltimore burb i once called home.

fame can be so fleeting...:D

Amy Grant, John Denver, David Allen Coe, President Bush when he was Governor, Stephen Curtis Chapman & more Texas politicians than I can remember. I worked at a wrestling arena back in the 70's & met all the top wrestlers of that time, most of whom could outclass today's wrestlers.

In my business - I've met hundreds.

From sports, acting, film, TV, radio, journalists, authors, artists, photographers, musicians, powers of businsess and industry, race drivers, you just about name it - even all, yes all - the surviving first generation Astronauts.......

I often get to make small talk with them and even touch them (I often place microphones on them or direct a make-up artist to fix them)

And because of my profession - within which there is an unwritten code that pretty much says, "don't fuckin' bug the talent."

I have not one autograph or photo.

It's against code.

i also drove next to hugh hefner on the freeway one day though. at least i think it was him . i was heading back from malibu and saw him drving a jaguar . if it wasn't him , it was a damn good lookalike

My mother told that when she was younger she or one of her friends (I can`t remember which) used to work at the Amarillo civic center. She got to meet celebrities all the time. Not the biggest names today maybe but this was a while back.

Sorry Cowboy but......

Hugh baby is pretty damn old - and he's nearly blind. Unless he was being driven - I don't think so.

Just one, I forgot his real name but he played Enos (sp) on Dukes of Hazzard.

Tom Hanks.

Well... sorta. One of my friends was an extra for his latest movie... "Road to.." I can't remember road to where. But it began with a P. Anyway. There's a bank heist, and she's the mortified customer he shoves outta the way.

I guess all through the shooting, he was talking to her. "Hey how ya doin'. Kinda hot in here," that kind of stuff. After the scene, they both came out, and I ran up to my friend, not even noticing that Tom was there.

I started blabbering about how cool it was she got to act with him, and he leaned over and said "Thanks, it was cool acting with her too."

He is the funniest guy!
