My man and I are into a few things, including whipping. I love being whipped but one thing I have noticed that from the flogger we use ( which is really nice ), I get welts and bruises very badly. Usually after our sessions my man will torture me with a freezing cold shower, that way it minimizes the bruising as well.
I dont mind the bruising really, and I know its because he really whips the shit out of me, which I fucking love...but I wear alot of backless and short dresses with nylons and heels, and I dont want my back , ass and backs of upper legs to look like iver been beaten for my cheeky behavior... My man and I are more so concerned for the public viewing, especially when Im a nurse at a hospital.

My question is and im hoping that a few other well experienced whippers or people getting whipped will be able to help, Is there any ways that you have tried to minimize bruising or do you think our cold shower torture is good enough?
What would you suggest for my situation of wanting to dress up and not look beaten to the public eye (haha!) and still be able to get beaten to shit in my home dungeon?

( I apologize if I post this in the wrong area as well, Im new here and Ive only posted a couple threads )

There are a lot of factors in what you are asking. If you want to lessen the bruising get a different flogger. What type of flogger are you using, what type of leather makeup does it have and how heavy is it.

If you want to try dealing with the bruising afterwards and keep the flogging and flogging style being used you could go for massage after along with Arnica or witch Haxel after your shower. This will help the bruising go away faster.

Flogging does not have to cause bruising there is also how much force is being used with the tool, but that is up to both of you and how you want to play.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response :)
I dont want to change the way the flogger is being used and how hard my man is hitting me.
I think i will try to witch hazel, Ive heard that stuff works wonders for many things...so maybe it will work with the bruising.

Dress more conservatively? Slightly longer skirts, and if you work in a hospital why wear backless articles of clothing?

She's referring to the public persona of being a nurse by profession, yet having bruising and battering visible while out of uniform and in public. It's definitely a factor that you must remain diligent in hiding.

It's erotic for me to see a woman out in public wearing a short dress with bruising on the back of her thighs. It's erotic for me to imagine the scenario of how those bruises were made, and how many more remain unseen. It's erotic for the woman to have them, while totally obscured by clothing, and no one is the wiser. Kind of like... lingerie. ;)

Ah...sorry had a moment there....no coffee today...

The immediate application of a cold compress is about the only thing I know of that will minimize the long term effects of any kind of inflammation, and the sooner the better, but nothing I know of will prevent bruising entirely.

Paint maybe, although people might wonder why you have foundation all over your back.

Haha!! I most definitely don't wear my backless clothing to work! Im a nurse, I wear a nurse uniform. Obviously I have clothing besides that ;)

Thanks for your suggestions though

Thanks everyone for your suggestions so far.

I find it interesting that some people would find it erotic to see a girl bruised up in public. Hmm.

The only thing that I can add, and as a nurse you surely know this, is not to take any medications that will thin your blood, including ibuprofen and other analgesics.

This is one reason that it is convenient for me that I dress very conservatively. If someone saw me naked the day after a session they would freak! I like to feel the welts and look at the marks, it gives me a special feeling.

As mentioned, there is not that much you can do about it. Anything that prevents the blood from spreading out is good:
- minimal movement
- compression bandages (not too tight though!)
- elevated position for legs

The biggest problem is that time is important...so best is to get beaten up under the cold shower ;) Or have the cold shower _before_ and _after_.

Try arnica cream before the bruises appear (i.e. as soon as possible after the impact). It won't stop the bruising altogether, but it will significantly reduce the discoloration and make them resolve more quickly. I've thought it was a miracle cream.

Arnica can be toxic, however, and shouldn't be used daily. Here are the precautions I found . . .

Arnica is generally safe when used on the skin. However, using it for a long time may irritate the skin, causing eczema, peeling, blisters, or other skin conditions. Arnica should not be used on broken skin, such as leg ulcers. Also, people who are hypersensitive or allergic to the herb should avoid it.

Arnica is rarely used as an internal herbal remedy because it can cause dizziness, tremors, and heart irregularities. It may also irritate mucous membranes and cause vomiting. Large doses can even be fatal. Do not take arnica by mouth except under close supervision of your doctor. Homeopathic remedies, which use extremely small amounts of arnica, can usually be taken safely.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, avoid taking arnica, and ask your doctor before using it on your skin. Talk to your doctor before taking any medication, including herbs.

You migth find it becomes less of a problem over time as the body adjusts and compensates. I used to bruise beautifully, now I rarely mark for more than 30 minutes max. Another solution to try might be taking Magnesium supplements. In the earlier days it was one thing which seemed to lessen the bruising...and still does. A few weeks ago I was bruising from tiny bumps agaonst furniture etc., and since going back on Magnesium, have found I no longer find bruises I cannot explain.:)
