Get some of the neosporin antibiotic "Plus" ointment. It has lidocaine in it and does a good job of reducing the pain.

Having said that, I am sure you are going to keep a watchful eye on this. It is not a good sign that it started hurting later on, though I don't really know how much time is later on. My concern is something like a popped vein or capillary, so keep an eye on it and if it wakes you up at night do not ignore it either, turn on the light and look at it to make sure it is not bruising like crazy. I'd also suggest ice, put a washcloth down first and use something like a bag of frozen peas. That will not only reduce the swelling but also make it more comfortable.

Hope it is all OK in the morning!

Great advice. If you don't have any cuts, there are also plain pain relieving creams, gels, and sprays with lidocaine in them(for bug bites, cuts, tooth pain, etc. )...look in the appropriate aisles or ask your pharmacist to direct you to one.

If you can find it, pick up a tube of Arnica (comes in lotion and gel forms). It's specifically designed to relieve bruises and make them heal faster. If you can't find it at a drugstore, check your local health food store or anywhere that sells natural/alternative health remedies.

thanks

thanks all for ur help.....and it looks a bit better today....a bit less painful....the only odd part is my nipple is still hard and well it wont go down lol. well i can cross guys bitting on my niples for long periods of time off my list for christmas. thanks again

You can also try applying cool cabbage leaves. Breastfeeding mothers use them and they are also used to treat mastitis. Cabbage has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, plus just having something cool against your skin will help ease the pain and soreness. Can't hurt to try - good luck!
