Bruce Jenner

He once threw a javelin at me, but since he always trained for distance and not accuracy, I wasn't worried.

I think it's weird, but I don't believe we have the right to judge. My question is what happens to his Olympic medal(s)? Does he get to keep them since he was a man at the time? Deep thoughts....with coffeeandsex.....

I think you are confusing transgendering with mental illness.

Our Ramone is a Schlitz beer-in-a-can & cheese pizza slice guy kinda guy.

Binary sexuality is a good enough fenced-in reality for him. Nuance is hard. There's a valid place in the world for those who don't want or need to think extra, as long as they stay there. :)

Don't judge. We don't judge anything anymore. Everything is awesome. A sixty five year old man who was a former olympic champion and national hero wants to become a woman. I think there's something wrong with him, obviously. As bad as he feels being male, do you think he's going to be happier as an artificial female? I she going to have his organs revised? Is he going to take hormones? Does he think people are going to think he's normal? He is just trading one dysfunction for another.

His choice . . . I am guessing he has done a lot more thinking and soul-searching on the subject than anyone here. Be kind. :)

I'll try. It's just me. I don't understand it and I don't have enough energy to try. My private nature makes it hard for me to understand people who need to live their live-in public. I don't tell people when I have a cold.

Not everybody who is transgender has the surgery or takes the hormones. I think this is especially true the older you are. I once had the experience of interviewing a transgendered woman who didn't transition until much later in life (after her wife had died), and the comparisons to Mrs. Doubtfire were unavoidable.

It seems that he's made the decision that he would rather give it a shot, than continue feeling as bad as he has. Clearly this was not a decision he came to lightly, or quickly. The vast majority of us never have to personally ponder such things. I feel for those on the fringe of the bell curve that have this added complexity.

He gold medaled in the decathlon. The fucking decathlon.

If he wants to wear a dress and drink appletinis, he's fucking earned it.

I find the whole idea very distasteful but it's a free country. His only mental illness was the lack of good judgement on his wedding day.

His Olympic gold medal record-setting performance in 1976 was basically as huge as America's Bicentennial itself...

...is the difference between a cross-dresser and a gender-wannabe that one just wants to be like a woman part of the time?

His Olympic medals have already proven he's more of a man than you'll ever be.
