So he spent $70K to make tens of millions of dollars in his “reality” show. Not a bad return on investment.

Caitlyn Jenner‘s new face didn’t come cheap.

As noted in her splashy debut in Vanity Fair, the 65-year-old former Olympian underwent a 10-hour facial feminization surgery in March of this year — a process that transforms the face and softens the features to appear more feminine.

Los Angeles-based celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. David Alessi, who has never treated Jenner, estimates Caitlyn’s new face set her back a whopping $70,000.

By looking at the athlete-turned-reality star’s face, Alessi, who performs facial feminization surgeries on roughly a dozen male-to-female patients a year, details the six procedures he believes were done.

What are the distinct differences among the three? And why don't chromosomes matter?

I sort of garbled the names.

Body Integrity Identity Disorder may be a neurological failing and also involves sexual arousal.

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), or body dysmorphia, is an anxiety disorder that causes sufferers to spend a lot of time worrying about their appearance and to have a distorted view of how they look...like an imagined speck on their face. The causes of BDD are unclear, but certain biological and environmental factors may contribute to its development, including genetic predisposition, neurobiological factors such as malfunctioning of serotonin in the brain, personality traits, and life experiences.

Transgender is the state of one's gender identity or gender expression not matching one's genetically assigned sex. Transgender is independent of sexual orientation. What usually occurs with transgered folk is gender dysphoria, a condition where a person experiences significant discomfort or distress because. Currently, there are numerous possible explanations of the cause of transsexualism, including genetics, brain structure, brain function, and prenatal androgen exposure.

Both BDD and GD are listed in the DSM 5...but, different things. What I meant by the homosexual-DSM comment was that things change. I think gender dysphoria is only in the DSM because of the distress it causes, not because being transgendered itself is a mental illness, just like homosexuality is no longer thought to be a mental illness.

NPR had a moving segment on transgendered children and an annual conference. I couldn't find it, though.

Sounds like transgenderism falls under
BDD. How do they differ in DSM5?

Spike TV Will Cut Clint Eastwood Joke About “Caitlyn” Jenner From Guys’ Choice Awards Broadcast…

After the Diversity Enforcement Brigade complained.

Via USA Today:

Clint Eastwood is courting controversy again, this time with a Caitlyn Jenner joke at the Spike TV Guys’ Choice 2015 awards on Saturday night.

USA TODAY has learned that Spike TV will cut an Eastwood joke about Jenner when the show airs Saturday, June 18.

The website Hollywood Life reported that Eastwood made the crack when introducing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for an award during the program shot at Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, CA.

Eastwood, 85, compared the San Andreas star to former athletes who have become actors, like “Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody…”

David Schwarz, Spike TV senior vice president of communications, confirmed the quote.

“We will remove the reference in the version that will air,” Schwarz wrote in an email.

Caitlyn Jenner, the Olympic athlete formerly known as Bruce, made her debut as a transgender woman, posing on the cover of Vanity Fair released June 1.

Bruce Jenner made $100 million USD in 65 years.

In the next 10 years, Caitlyn Jenner will make $500 million USD, analysts say.
