Has anyone tried the browser "Opera?"

I just downloaded it and it has some nice features left off of IE and Netscape. It is at www.opera.com, and it is an 11 megabyte download.

Plus Bill Gates has nothing to do with it.

Oops, wrong thread!
I thought this was going to mention Carmen or Madama Butterfly

I'll leave quietly

I have Opera, at least three different versions of Netscape and IE. I also have Mozilla (almost the same as Netscape, but open source and not affiliated with AOL). I don't really care for Opera (it is quirky and has a few bugs), but I use it for web site testing to make sure that my website doesn't screw up too badly on it as a lot of developers use it rather than IE or NS. They don't use IE or NS for religious reasons (they hate MS and/or AOL).

I like IE best because it works the best with regards to website features and it is the fastest loading. Mozilla and NS have one advantage in that they support some new features of CSS, but until IE implements these features I will not use them in my website. Until then I will continue to use frames. Mozilla and NS are somewhat slow to load though.

Most people use IE; it is fast loading and relatively robust. I have noticed that it starts to fail when I have a lot of windows open (as in 30 or more), and I somehow managed to kill its SSL encryption layer, but I use it most of the time without problems.

I like a couple things about Opera. First, you can erase all history, cookies, etc with one click of a button. Second, you can navigate forward and backward with the mouse by clicking and dragging the mouse forward or backward. You can increase or decrease the size of the view pretty effortlessly.

Finally, it seems faster than IE.

I have only had one page (MSN) not load properly, and there was a simple setting change which fixed the problem.

So far, I like.

I've run Opera off and on for the last year or more and have found it to be comparable to any other browser available. Its incredibly quick on some sites and just average onothers, with a comfortable interface and easily negotiated features(settings). Similar to what STG mentioned... i found that Opera interfered less with other programs when I gobble up my computer's RAM.

Worth a look for those curious or simply dissatisfied with IE and/or Netscape.
