Brownies are good!

Brownies are not brownies without nuts, they're squares of super dense chocolate cake that can break your teeth after 2 days if you don't cover them.

Brownies are not for the fainthearted either. Or those prone to nut allergies. :)

I see your point. But stand by my preference. Interestingly enough I like nuts in fudge and am of a similar opinion as you with regard to brownies. Fudge without nuts is just frosting a day or two before it's useless and dumb.

Yes I do like them. The comfort of their softness pressing every part of my mouth, filling it with thick sweet love. Swallowing's an effort, threatening to choke me with the joy of too much; but we trust its sugar - nothing so sweet or soft could ever harm. I feel it slow slide full into my tummy and swallow again - still sweet rich on my tongue like breast milk. Still four mouthfuls. Shared smiles hidden behind a hand. Teeth glued with chocolatey grout, filling every crevice for a busy tongue to later find and celebrate. Yup - they ain't bad. :)

I got lost here for a moment, if I'm honest.

I'd pass on a brownie in favor of a cookie or cupcake.

A cookie, maybe. It would have to be a warm soft one though. But cupcakes?? Of all the awkward eating foods there ever were. I'd like to rejigger any cupcake to more resemble a small, sweet taco. Otherwise I look like I'm trying to eat a messy crumby softball. See: muffins.

What's brownie porn without a good nut.

Just sayin'.

You logisticians keep bringing up sound points and I damn near might flip my stance on this whole brownie thing.

Oh I like a good cupcake!
You can eat it civilized: plate it, fork and knife

The elegant simplicity of this.

For some reason over my entire life no one who has ever handed me a cupcake also handed me a plate or a utensil. I doubt I've eaten one sitting down even. Cupcakes are lawless ne'er-do-wells of the snack kingdom. Even a twinkie has protocol. But not cupcakes. I only ever bite about the thing or tear it to pieces with my fingers.

Truth? It'll usually end up in the bin if I cannot politely decline.

Brownies should be slightly undercooked so that teeth aren't really needed in their enjoyment, unless there are pieces of Butterfinger in them.

I do love brownies, but some can be too dense like fudge. I prefer a lighter brownie which is more cakey, but only just.

Brownies are amazing and can be added to with candies, chocolate chips and frosting. Just do not make them dry or hard.

I spent the weekend sitting on a mountaintop drinking the dew of the gods and contemplating this thread.

I have reconsidered all the possibilities of all things brownie and have reached an inescapable conclusion...

Frosting, ganache, sprinkles, a molten center or whatever other way you want to make it, if there ain't no nuts in it, it ain't a brownie.
