Folding up the hire notice in my back pocket I look at the house I’ve rented once more for the coming month, although its real purpose won't happen until the end of October. The previous three Hallowe'ens have a host of spookily brilliant memories related to them, I'm sure this year will be no different, and I want to make sure I give my guests time to work on their costumes.

From last year's party I know it is perfectly spooky with plenty of rooms for naughty goings on and dark corners for dark deeds…
I also have some plans for some new areas for my yearly celebration that I need to organise too.

I walk to the post box on the corner and carefully insert a bundle of handwritten envelopes through the slot, addressed to any and all who frequent the SRP lounge.
The invitation inside is carefully handwritten to match the envelope and reads as follows…

HAPPY HALLOWE’EN!
You are invited to Britwitch’s Hallowe’en Party Week!
Saturday 26th October - Saturday 2nd November 2013

There will be suitably spooky fun running both day and night for the whole week so do drop by if and when you have chance…it’s my favourite holiday and I couldn’t let it go by without doing something!

Hoping to see you and your chosen costume there!

Best wishes,

Britwitch

P.S. Feel free to bring anything to party that you like and any and all help is welcome to help me prepare beforehand! :D

Invitations on their way, I head to the store, food and drink will need to be bought, creepy cupcakes will have to be baked…the house will also need balloons, streamers and candles...there'll be lanterns and a maze to arrange once more in the garden...I worked hard to fix up the house last year but who knows what new jobs will need doing in the year that has passed. I grin looking back over my shoulder to the house. That satellite dish that's appeared on the front? That'll be the first thing to get rid of.

And then of course, there's my costume to think about…now, what to be this year…hmmm…. ;)

Things are starting to come together. The decorations I've had sent over look awesome and next week the pumpkins will be delivered en masse for carving and leaving...pretty much everywhere!

I've been cleaning and tidying up the inside of the house, which always seems a little silly when all I'm going to do is cover it back up with fake spider's webs and all manner of paranormal looking paraphernalia. Oh well, wouldn't be Hallowe'en without it!

A couple of weeks still to go, which is good, my costume idea is in my mind...just to find the things to wear to make it....
purrfect.

It's bright and sunny but cold, very cold.
But work needs to be done outside regardless so with a warm sweater pulled on and a bright scarf around my neck, I head out into the garden of the house I've hired to play host for next week's Halloween festivities. My booted feet clattering gayly down the steps and towards a large orange coloured mass towards the fence.

There are pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, all carefully carved, that need to be placed along the pathways and across the porch, not to mention a healthy share are to be taken inside. A truck came yesterday with bales of hay ready to be put to use as the Haunted Maze towards the rear of the house but that I'll tend to once the Jack O'Lanterns are in their places.

Things are finally ready.

Lights twinkle along the fences.

Pumpkins wait in groups, waiting to be lit tomorrow.

Out the back is the Halloween maze, haybales and a little magic transforming the part of the grounds furthest from the house into a twisting labyrinth where anything can happen in the flickering light of the torches.

Inside, under covers, cupcakes and sweet treats and all manner of tempting libations await the guests.

And upstairs, hangs a costume, ready to be worn...

Not long to go now!!

It's time.
As the sun sinks on the horizon and dusk trickles down around the house, the hour has finally arrived.

Lanterns glow and candles flicker, the house is suitably spooky and the garden shadowy.

As usual she’ll provide the treats…

She's sure her guests will provide the tricks.

The whole house is open for exploration, food and refreshments downstairs…closed doors and secrets upstairs.

To the rear of the house is the maze and who knows what else lurks in the enchanted darkness that will linger over the house and it’s visitors until next weekend…

Come one, come all! Join in the Halloween fun!

She can't stop smiling. It's one of her favourite times of year and she's hoping for another year of fun for those that frequent the Lounge and it's surroundings.

Her cat costume clings lasciviously to her curves, the tail attached to the rear swaying with each silk encased step and the addition of a thin velvet ribbon around her neck upon which hangs a tiny bell adding a playful tinkle to accompany her movements.

Heels click across the hardwood, and appropriately creaky, floor and she eyes the huge array of sweet and savoury treats she's spent time preparing for her guests. There should be enough. And if not? The kitchen is just a few steps away.

Adjusting her ears ever so slightly and pouring herself a small drink she sips, not wanting to smudge her lipgloss quite so early, and waits...

The invitation led him to the same place on the same spooky block. Strangely close to his shop, yet far enough away that the cold has begun to seep into the metal of his costume. The clever use of a bodysuit and face paint complete the ensemble. The hammer hefted on his shoulder was crafted of lightweight materials, though it did appear capable of smashing things with ease. A breeze billowed the crimson cape he wore.

The door was unlocked and it appeared that not many guests had arrived as of yet. The scent of snacks wafted by and brought him to the long tables of treats. He set his hammer aside, using both hands to pick and choose a small plateful of nibbles. Near the end of the table he spotted the hostess of the party, looking lovely in her feline accoutrements.

"Hello Mz. Brit. Looking good! Happy Halloween!"

The party was quiet, for now, but that meant people could talk.
Blue eyes sparkled with excitement as a familiar face, in a caped costume, appeared through the door. She let him eye the goodies and put a few on a plate before sauntering over to hug him warmly.

"Why, thank you, Mr Freek!"

A kiss to his cheek, being careful not to smudge his face with the sparkle on her lips.

"And it's lovely to see you too. It's been far, far, too long since I saw you last!"

"Yes, it's been quite a while. I have been around, just...watching."

The hug is returned warmly, the light caress of her lips on his cheek bringing a grin to his own. The snacks on his plate are shortly dispatched and the plate is set aside to make more conversation.

"So, how've you been? Any new news or excitement?"

"I've been good. Adjusting to a life back at work, which is considerably more tiring these days with two little witches at home!"

A light giggle and a sip from her glass.

"But I wouldn't change it. Life otherwise trundles on, it's dramas and challenges here and there but..."

A light shrug.

"Such is the way of things, is it not? And you? I hope you've been keeping well."

"I see. Yes, I can imagine two little ones is more challenging to handle."

One of the festive drinks from the table is acquired, a sip taken to follow hers.

"I've been well. Recently returned from a vacation, which was fun. Work is definitely a drag."

His eyes shift from her to the decorations and back, the corners of his mouth pulled up in a grin.

"You've done a great job again this year. I'm hoping I can stick around longer this year. I do have another party this evening, but I'm sure this place will still be hopping when I manage to return."

"Oooh, vacations are always fun."

A slight side step and rounded rear is lifted and settled onto a spare corner of one of the larger tables. Legs crossing at the knee.

"I definitely think I need one of those."

A playful giggle and another wink before looking around at the muted lighting and spooky decor before looking back at him.

"And, thanks, I do like to make the effort so it's always nice to know it's appreciated. And as the party is going to go on until Halloween proper? I'd hope that even if you can't stick around much tonight, you'll have chance to pop in again before the festivities are over."

Another wink and another sip, her eyes holding his over the rim.

"Heh, the vacation kind of left me needing a vacation...lots of walking."

The roundness of her backside is not missed by his gaze, the curve of hip and thigh as they cross, the shape of calves and ankles tapering down to her heels.

Her wink widens his grin, her sip matched by a larger drink taken from his cup.

"Yes, I'm sure I'll be about for the duration. Wouldn't want to miss out on the fun."

It's his turn to wink, his smile betraying only a portion of the mischief on his mind.

She notices the movement of his eyes, quietly confident she could mark out the path they took over her figure. Smiling a little shyly as their gazes meet once more.

"And I'm hoping fun will be plentiful before the party is done."

Another giggle before she lets her eyes wander over his taller, broader frame.

"So, excuse my lack of suitable knowledge, but while I think I'm safe to assume your costume is a hero of sorts...I am at a loss as to which particular one you are?"

Blue eyes are curious as they rise back up to his face.

"So please? Do tell."

Time moves on in the real world and so it's time for the hostess to find somewhere to get a little shut eye. Smiling at her guests on her way, she heads upstairs and upon finding a bedroom that is vacant she closes the door behind her and flops down on the bed with a happy sigh. Hoping more guests will drop in while she sleeps and enjoy the spooky atmosphere downstairs, she drifts into dreams.

As if in a dream...

*Her dreams are varied, but one serves as an almost eerie coincidence. In it they are both downstairs, discussing things as normal. Though his eyes may wander over her curves a bit more*

I'm John Henry Irons, the Man of Steel. Steel for short. Not exactly Superman, but super in my own right. Also not quite so widely known, so don't worry about it.

*The dream is hazy at the edges, and while she may not remember much else, she would awake with that small bit of knowledge, and perhaps a smile from it.*

The hostess wakes and stretches. A half dreamed, half remembered conversation curving her lips into a grin as she sits up. She'll have to see if the man in question is still around when she gets back to the party.

Blue eyes peer into the mirror, ears placed as the should be and tail is straightened with a giggle.

Her heels click back down the stairs, accompanied by a tiny tinkle from the bell at her throat. With warm smiles for new guests, after a quick trip to the kitchen to replenish some of the supplies, a new drink is acquired and she settles near the door ready to welcome any new visitors that might stop by.

These days, the only way to ensure that she wouldn't be abysmally late to something was to show up rather uncomfortably early...but if there was one person around these parts who would understand, it was the prettiest witch hosting this party. Anyway, Alice reflected as she adjusted the string of pearls around her neck - surely she could make herself useful in the kitchen, or with last-minute decorations or some such.

She grinned at herself in the mirror - couldn't help grinning, actually, and a shiver of doubt immediately followed the thought. Her make-up was truly grisly (she loved it - she could never go full sex, for Halloween), and she wondered suddenly if she might be completely out of place at this party, and spoil the mood entirely. She paused to appraise the sleek, slim fit of the black dress - come on, there was no denying it was hot! And Holly Golightly was a bit of a tramp, really, for all of her sparkly earrings and cocktail dresses and early mornings at Tiffany's... Alice shrugged at herself.

"If anyone doesn't like it, they can just fuck me from behind," she murmured, then giggled uneasily at such flippant presumption. It wasn't exactly part of her plan for this party, but...one never knew, in this season of mischief and devilry.

She pulled on her gloves and took up her purse and cigarette holder. Throwing a coat over her shoulders, she ran out to meet the taxi that had pulled up in her driveway.

The creepy old house loomed in the shadowy twilight, and she grinned again behind her lipless grin at the dozens of glowing jack o'lanterns lining the path to the porch, which creaked dutifully as she stepped up to knock on the front door. It was perfect - and gosh, the work that must have gone into these decorations! She shivered again, deliciously. It was her favorite holiday, too.

She couldn't wait. She pushed the door open slightly and called inside.

"Brit? I'm super early, I apologize! Just wanted to make sure I could get away - but put me to work! Anything that needs doing, just let me know!"

A familiar voice coming from an almost unrecognisable face made the hostess start slightly but then recognition filtered through the amazing make up and soon the cat was hugging the disfigured siren of the screen.

"Oh I'm so glad you could make it!" A quick glance over the destroyed mouth before pressing a kiss to relatively unscathed cheek. "And you look amazing! Seriously! Now, come get a drink and as for doing things? All you need do...is enjoy yourself!" A playful wink followed by a similar tug on gloved arm and soon a cocktail was in her guest's hand.

Stealth Ravens in. Leaves two huge bowls of pebbles. And kisses or handshakes for all of the attends. It quit hard to tell what his costume is but it looks like this ___________________. Anyone who wishes to inspect the pebbles will find that they are perfectly normal except for Raven's stamp on the side. The bowls how ever say trick&street. You never know when the proper application of a pebble will get you out of trouble.

Sad that I might not be able to attend the party this year I slip quietly up to the house and leave a small thank you gift for the hostess. I had been unable to make up my mind and so had enclosed both of my choices in the small velvet box hoping she would like one of them.

*Britwitch's party was the place to be tonight and yet the house seems quiet...oh so quiet...*

Where is everyone?

*Taking a drink from a table I find myself drawn through the house and out the back toward the maze. A chill breeze ruffles the short black skirt of my costume and I smooth it down with one hand, glad for the little bloomers underneath.

I look back toward the house as I enter the maze. Maybe I should leave a trail of bread crumbs or something...*

"Nice costume" comes a disembodied voice. "And yes it dose seem that most of the guest have not arrived. Allow me to introduce myself I'm Raven. The invisible man for this evening. How are you on this beautiful if slightly chilly evening?

I am quite well, Raven, thank you. I missed the party last year so thought I would make an appearance tonight.

*Eyes slowly scanning the area I watch for any subtle give away of my new companion's location. I'll have to listen closer.*

Have you been enjoying yourself?
