Afghanistan defeated the England cricket team at the World Cup finals in India yesterday. England a finalist at the previous tournament lost 285 to 216 in a shock result. Cricket in Afghanistan was unknown until the war drove 2 million refugees into Pakistan camps where they learned the game from the locals. So in a roundabout way the Afghans success is due to the American war in their country. The Afghans had lost 16 of their previous 17 games.

I stopped taking any notice of the Daily Mail when they ran the Ad campaign "Every woman needs her daily Mail" The campaign was dreamt up by a former News Limited (Murdoch) executive who thought his former employers adherence to facts and truth was too limiting.
