A story under development (nearly done) is set in England, for a specific reason. i'm from the US of A, and have a fair, though limited understanding of uniquely British words, spellings, and colloquialisms. i've got most of the knickers, boot, arse, and neighbourhood things down. However, i'm sure the story has a few other places that deserve some sort of treatment to make it properly localized.

i'm searching for a British author who would do a read-through to help me add and correct British-specific elements. The Literotica free editors was a washout. No one i contacted from England responded. Besides, i'm not looking for editing so much as guidance on slang and vernacular.

If it's relevant, the locale of the story is in the vicinity of Liverpool. (No, it's not about those guys...) The length is approximately 15k words.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in taking this on.

Best Regards,
-a

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

British? I have no idea what that is- the Queens Oxford English? So many things change the language. Location, class, ethnicity, religion, education, occupation, family, who you communicate with, when (this century, last century, this year, last year), written English English or spoken English English. You know, the best way possibly is to get a book (novel) written in Britain when your story is set or start listening to the Beeb or go there. Every country has its lingual variation. If you're trying to figure out why British and American English is different then I'd suggest you get a biography of Georgiana ( Spencer) Cavendish. I think It's Cavendish. If you want to hear ridiculous English English go to Blenheim and join a tour. They used to use Georgiana's English and probably still do. There are authors here who use English English and you could read them. Perhaps you could change the storie's presentation and have it according to the telling by an American visitor and have the English English in quotes. Good luck.
