British blood donors

Anyone who, like me, donates blood in the UK knows that they do tests and are pretty picky.

Would any female blood donor be interested in a 57-year-old, 6 foot 3 (almost), 14 stone, lorry-driving ex-computing-lecturer from Yorkshire?

last time i donated blood was when i lost my virginity mr fifty five only joking!!! i started last month with my first sample batch, they wrote back and said please can we have some more so it must be good stuff

What's this, "sample batch" thing? When I started, they just took a pint and popped you on the register. Mind you, back then they wouldn't take any more for 6 months, now it's only 4 months between donations.

Right now I have to wait for longer, since I went to China to see family (the youngest's teaching English over there). It seems that China's a malaria zone, so you have to wait a full 6 months so they can be sure you've not got it.

What made you start? I mean, it's easy (though some folk can't cope), but most folk don't...
