Brits Are Being Arrested for Social Media Posts Now

David Strom 9:20 PM | August 08, 2024

Britain is no longer falling.

It has fallen, and it may never get back up.

Hate speech laws have been plaguing Britain for years, and people have sporadically gotten arrested for offending the wrong person--usually somebody in the alphabet community, who are the most "protected" people in the Western world right now. Close behind are Muslims, who can rampage across Great Britain shouting about killing all Jews, replacing English law with Sharia, and run a parallel police system to enforce Sharia among Muslims.

But now that violence has broken out in retaliation for the murder of English children, the State has decided to crack down on...social media posts.

Inciting a riot using false information has always been a crime. These riots have led to actual pain and suffering.

The only new twist here is that the inciting was done via social media. No one should get to hide behind a digital shield any more than a paper one.

OP sounds like a Russian troll, trying to get us all to fear our basic institutions.

It takes a special kind of stupid to say something like this on a sex forum of all places. Do you also spend your time on squattheplanet shilling for tighter urban police presence?

I have lived in the past, and will likely once again live, in a country where posting on a website like this could get me arrested if I didn't take some fairly basic steps to anonymize myself.

He's not. Though I might be.

If the US was like that you and Trump would be locked away for life.

OP is a fool, nothing more.

Britain has no constitutional right to stir up racial hatred or violence of any other kind. If you tell someone to slit somebody else's throat you can go to prison for that. It's easy to see if you are liable to be under police investigation for social media activity: Check your social media history.

‘THINK BEFORE YOU POST:’ Britain’s slide into censorship.

Britain has fallen. That’s been the take on the anti-woke chattersphere this past 24 hours, as prime minister Keir Starmer’s post-riots crackdown has taken an Orwellian turn. Alongside coming down hard on the violent racist thugs on our streets, a move no sane person has a problem with, Starmer has also trained his ire on the apparent cause of every societal ill, at least according to our ruling class: too much free speech on social media.
All week, the government has been calling on the Big Tech firms, particularly Elon Musk’s X, to do more to clamp down on misinformation and hate. Of course, we’ve seen plenty of both, online and off, recently. A lurid claim that the Southport child-killings, the spark for nearly two weeks of unrest, were committed by a Muslim asylum seeker swirled in the wake of that horror. But while you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who is passionately in favour of misinformation or hate, the past few days have reminded us of the sinister territory you enter into when the powers-that-be try to police them.
Since Musk has refused to play ball, even goading Starmer with accusations of ‘two-tier policing’ and feverish suggestions Britain is verging on ‘civil war’, the government has resorted to doing the silencing itself. Yesterday, we had director of public prosecutions Stephen Parkinson telling us that even a retweet could land you in an all-grey prison tracksuit. ‘You may be committing a crime if you repost, repeat or amplify a message which is false, threatening, or stirs up racial / religious hatred’, Parkinson told the PA news agency. ‘Think before you post’, screamed the Gov.UK X account last night, reminding Brits that ‘content that incites violence or hatred isn’t just harmful – it can be illegal’.

When social media posts lead directly to violence against people who are inaccurately accused of murder of children, it's a different level of social media
Yes, we know you yearn for Orwell's Oceania and its Ministry of Truth.

That’s exactly what a Labour politician did in the street the other day. His charge is violent disorder not incitement to murder. Hell get 100 hours of community service

Wrong.
He has been sent straight to prison to await his trial dated for next month.

Suspended Labour councillor Ricky Jones has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on charges of encouraging violent disorder ...

I believe he correctly identified the people he targeted with his threatening comment as the Nazi scum who were terrorizing innocents.

That ^ I s a pretty significant mitigating element when one considers the ACTUAL violence that was perpetrated on innocents due to the Nazi propaganda on social media.

😑

If lying about people online was good for 20 months in the US, most of the PB "lefties" would reappear sometimes in '26.

Person being arrested for trying to burn down a hotel with children inside. Perp cannot understand why he should go into a cell for that.
