Someone came into chat tonight, and though a bit rude, proceeded to start a discussion about politics and threw in some anti-american sentiments as well. Sadly, a few people jumped down "her" throat for bringing intelligent conversation into the Lounge, where from what I've been lead to believe, anything is fair game so long its not too vulgar or threatening. They then proceeded to give her hell for not being American and repeatedly told her to leave. One person, who is not an official chat monitor, but has been known to have the power to boot people out of the room, also threatened her with and told her to leave. All the while, I tried to have intelligent conversation and keep my mind stimulated and I was told to leave as well. Sad but true, I think the old gaurd is slowly becoming intolerant and that is quite sad. Bri and anyone else who has gone in and left disenchanted, count me among you now.

I don't go to the Chat that much anymore, never really did, but I did go in the other week and I found the only way to a "Normal" conversation was to PM with another lady that seemed to have the same interests as me. She was a lovely lady, but when we tried to discuss certain things in a room, we weren't accepted, so we PM'ed with each other and had a great time.

I won't be returning to the Chat room though, I tend to agree with you all. It's a pity really when you think about it.

BUT like I said, at least we get your intelligent conversation here instead

I gave up on the chat room, too. I didn't ever visit much, but no ever seems to talk in there. When it is midnight & I am lonely, I don't want to be pm'd every 5 minutes by someone saying "hi sexy", etc. Definitely more interesting conversations at the BB.

I went into chat right after I submitted my first few poems to the site, and was waiting for them to go up.. All I had thus far on the site was an audio story. Even so, I got so sick of hanging out in the Lounge and being propositioned that I headed off to the Writer's Corner or whatever it's called, seeing that there was only one person there and being fairly hopeful that said person wouldn't try to cyber-rape me or talk about the sexual attractiveness of Grayhounds.

..And that's where I met Dixon for the first time. Haven't been back.. Partly because I don't wanna press my luck, and partly because DCL traumatized me by asking me to bark like a dog while he cyber-raped me..

It can get very tedious with all the endless comings and goings and [very] small talk. There are still a few good folk there, but I haven't been in a while now.
