I think the UK has been around a little longer than that.

Well they aren't around anymore...LOL

Fucking suckers lost their country and they don't even care. Suuuuuper "progressive" :D

Who is in charge? It's not the citizens, or Parliament. Whomever IS in charge, doesn't want Brexit, so... due to "national emergency" everything is postponed 'till a later unannounced date?

The EU is, and they don't want their cash cow leaving yet. :D

So, what does BJ do now that he's been slapped down by the Court? Does he quit and go away like the US BJ should hopefully do some day soon?

Or does he continue to be an Ass like ours probably will?

He considers the implication of the decision until it is too late and Parliament has resumed anyway.

It's not, it would probably hurt the EU more which is why they want to charge them such an astronomical amount of money to leave.

The UK won't do it, they don't have enough spine to stand on their own, they want to be kept pets of Brussels.....good little lefty collectivist.

I'm a social democrat, albeit in favor of an Americanized variation of that, but thank you for trying.

what a cluster fuck

FUBAR

Sadly, Boris is just as immature as Donald.

You have my sympathy.

Trying what?

All I did was criticize the folks who don't want the UK to be it's own country anymore.

Also what does an Americanized variation of 'social democrat' mean to you??

just for clarity: is 31 Oct a UK imposed deadline or an EU imposed deadline? In other words, can the UK unilaterally say 'we're staying' or does the EU need to agree?

The last time the British Government asked for a delay it was until 31 October. That was agreed by all member states of the EU. Unless the UK government asks for a further delay the 31 October stands.

Unless a UK government asks for a further delay, the UK will leave on 31 October whether a deal has been reached or not. The Prime Minister has stated frequently that he will NOT ask for an extension. If a General Election were to be called, or forced by the government losing a formal vote of confidence, that election could not now happen before 31 October and the UK would have left the EU because there was no UK government to seek an extension.

Even if a UK government were to ask for an extension beyond 31 October, all other EU countries would have to agree. The French government has indicated that it would NOT agree. They want a much clearer position from the MPs at Westminster on a proposal that would be supported by a majority of MPs otherwise they see any extension as another peroid of uncertainity with no resolution except the UK asking for yet another extension after any delay sought now. The French are fed up with the posturing at Westminster with no clear way forward that could be supported by a majority.

And now we have an election on December 12th.

Will that give any party a majority? If not, it's back to the same old mess.

Having used the brexit vote as an excuse to expel his detractors from the party, the election will be used to shore up Boris's support within his own party. However, unless he gets an outright majority it will change nothing.

According to the polls, Parliament does reflect the views of the people. 1/3 only leave with a good deal, 1/3 leave ant any cost and 1/3 don't leave at all.
