Brazilian Waxing

I'm away from my husband right now, but he's coming to meet me in a few days. I'm wanting to get a Brazilian and surprise him. But I'm wondering about ingrown hairs. Normally when I shave that area i get them quite bad. :( i hate that!! To me it looks disgusting, plus it's not exactly comfortable. :( Will I still get those or will it be better with waxing? And any pre-waxing tips/advice?

Some helpful stuff there.

Waxing pulls hair from the root, so typically ingrown hairs aren't an issue. Just make sure you pop an asprin or ibuprofen beforehand, and you don't have it done too close to when you're supposed to be starting your period. It's really not that bad, I mean you're getting your pubes literally ripped out so it sucks, but people like being dramatic so they make it seem like it's a lot worse than it really is. It stays nice and smooth for so much longer, and the hair overtime (if you do it regularly) grows back much finer, so it's worth it.

Ok. Thanks. :)

I switched from shaving to a Brazilian for that reason exactly. No matter what I tried with shaving from a fresh blade to an oil based shaving cream (instead off a soap based) to an after tonic in-grown hair serum. I couldn't avoid them and the nasty red bumps. Since waxing I haven't had them. Albeit I warmed it to Brazilian wax. I started off with a bikini line waxing, than the full bikini, then a Brazilian. Honestly if you can handle a full bikini waxing a Brazilian will be a breeze. That last back strip around the bum hole hardly hurts, and it's nothing compared to the front.

Yay! That's what I wanted to hear! can't wait to try it.

I just bought a Groupon for laser removal. It's gotten so affordable: siix sessions for $349 for a brazilian at a place with great reviews. I'll be thrilled to not have to mess with shaving, waxing and trimming anymore! :nana:

It's one of the best investments I made for myself. It won't eliminate 100% but for my legs, it's 98% gone :nana: Brazilian is at 85% gone.

You're going to love it the results! :rose:

I had laser hair removal about 10 years ago. It's more advanced now, but even then it was so much better than waxing. I went for a wax twice and about went thru the ceiling both times. Holy shit! Did it hurt! I went to two different salons, both very reputable; I think it's just the nature of the treatment, getting your pubes ripped out by the roots!
The laser treatment, while time consuming ( lots of visits over a period of time) and expensive, was so worth it! Kind of like being snapped with a rubber band...
Back then, they couldn't do it on darker skin, and my asshole, being a bit darker than my otherwise white skin, was not able to be "zapped".
I've gone back a few times over the past 10 years for touchups, but haven't been back for 3 years, and except for 4 or 5 random hairs, I'm bare.
I'll go back one of these days and get those last few hairs taken of, and maybe see about the ass thing too, as I hear they can do it on darker skin now.
But, maybe not. I mean, I've gone this long, and done plenty of anal sex, both oral and penetrative, and no one has said anything about the fact that I have a few hairs around my asshole. And if that's a dealbreaker, well, there's the door sweetie.

All that said, from what I understand, the "trend" these days, for those who care, is going away from smooth and bare ( like I have), to a tightly trimmed bush...not just a landing strip, but on the lips, too, but closely trimmed. For whatever that's worth....

I'm conflicted on whether or not I should have everything removed. I asked my husband, "What if I find a girlfriend who HATES the totally bare look?!" :D However, I have pretty fine hair and can't achieve much more than a dirt strip w/ potholes, and the landing strip area hair is really difficult to remove because the skin gets so fucking irritated.

What should I dooooooooo??????

Whatever you want! ;) :D

If you wax it off, does the skin still get irritated?

This is what I did: I have a wider than average landing strip, on the advice of my aesthetician. She pointed out this is the most versatile of all below-the-belt styles, so if I want, I can wax it/shave it off or leave it (the lips are bare by the way). Like you, I have some potholes, as I'm pretty sparse, but this way, I can switch it up.

ETA: I have to be very careful in shaving the strip, because it can get irritated, so I usually wax it once every so often (and to get all the other errant hair) and THEN shave as it grows back. Kinda counterproductive, I know, but this works for me.

Yeah, I think that's ultimately what I'll do. The irritation isn't as bad with waxing, but it's still annoying. Maybe not so annoying if I haven't had all that other hair ripped off as well. Waxing a landing strip is something I can easily do myself.

I thought of you, FB, when I was going to go with a 3-waxing Groupon, but then I saw the laser Groupon and called my hubby to discuss the purchase and ask if it could be my birthday gift (13 days and counting!). :D

It will be an awesome birthday present, I can guarantee you that! ;) Taking the leap is something I never ever regretted and even after my first session, I noticed a significant hair reduction.

And happy birthday in advance :rose:

If you have to ask this question, then, as your biggest fan, you already know what I'm going to tell you. For those that may not know me as well, I will elaborate. You must always do what is best for you! If you prefer a bald pussy, but have issues with shaving and/or waxing, then maybe laser is the way to go. DO NOT make this decision lightly, when it comes to permanent alterations of your body. This is easily something that can be likened to a tattoo, if you are not absolutely certain that you want a permanent change to your body, then DO NOT do this.

As was pointed out earlier (maybe it was a different thread), fads come and go, and the current trend is moving back to some sort of groomed landing strip. Next year the full bush will be back in vogue, a year after that, bald again, then not, then bush, then bald . . . so, as you can see, when it comes to body modification, you have to be certain that it is right for you before you make that leap.

If this is something for your partner, then I would suggest a joint discussion and a compromise. If you or your body does not like shaving/waxing, maybe well trimmed will suffice? If your partner is worth being with, he will not make demands that are absolute, he will take into account your needs and abilities, and work with you to arrive at an acceptable compromise that will make both of you happy.

Always, the decision is yours, especially when it comes to altering your body. Do not let anyone else ever dictate your actions. :rose::kiss:

Thanks for the words of encouragement, NM. :rose:

I'm 100% positive about permanently removing most of my pubic hair. I've been trimming, shaving, waxing and deplilatory-ing for, damn, like 15 years now. When I don't feel like the upkeep, I don't do it, but then I'm utterly unhappy with the situation.

I won't lie and say I'll be the sole beneficiary of laser hair removal. Both my husband and I prefer barer bits, particularly for oral. So, while I'm doing it for both of us, I wouldn't even consider it if I wasn't 100% in favor of the idea. I'm busy with other stuff and I'm tired of dealing with this area of grooming, so it's my best option. The ONLY reason I'll miss my pubic hair is not getting that increased sensitivity after it's grown in enough and I remove it. That's a loss I can live with, and regardless of what's in fashion, I'm sure I'll be happy with my decision for the rest of my life. :)

I would LOVE to do laser hair removal, but the main thing is cost. but I guess just as big of a reason is I live in rural Alaska, so that would make it difficult to do follow up appointments or whatever. :( but if we ever move, it is pretty high on my want list. :)

Got the Brazilian done today!! :) it wasn't near as bad as I was expecting And so far I LOVE it. Hubby doesn't get home til mornin, so I'll have to wait for his verdict. ;)
