Mery de los Rios is trying to become Miss Venezula, she represents Guarnico. During a photo-op to promote the pageant she had to cross onto a footbridge wearing a bikini covered with a pareo(a skirt tied at the hip), remove the pareo and have her photo taken. all went well til it was time to untie and remove the skirt. Instead of untying just the skirt, Seniorita de los Rios unwittingly also untied her bikini bottoms, eliciting loud gasps from the assembled audience.
She tried to recover by placing her hands over the exposure and then grabbed for the pareo again, but only succeeded in uncovering herself again much to everyone's delight. Finally she mustered as much dignity as she could under the circumstances and calmly walked offstage to loud applause and shouts of Brava, Brava!
