I've heard rumors that some people want Reagan's face on Mt. Rushmore and the $10 bill.

Does anyone find it odd that Reagan in more popular now than he was when he was President? My mother told me that the same was true of Harry Truman.

Reagan's biggest claim to fame is that he "won the Cold War." People, this is simply bunk. Any serious scholar of the time knows that the USSR was crumbling from the inside out. It would have broken up regardless of who was President. Ronnie just happened to be off the bench and on the field when time ran out.

Reagan's greatest legacy to the United States is the idea of dribble down economics. It did not work then... and it sure as hell isn't working now...

I stand corrected. "Thousand Points of Light" George was there for the last gasp. However, the propaganda of our time says that Star Wars did the UUSR in. Would the USSR have survived without "Star Wars?" No. It was doomed the day they invaded Afghanistan. And probably before that- Brezhnev was a Soviet version of many American leaders who simply milk the system for what it is worth.

If Americans want to celebrate the end of the Cold War, they should put Gorby on the $10 and Rushmore.

No, they should leave Hamilton on the $10 bill. Actually, he deserves a higher denomination -- he essentially rescued the U.S. banking system from chaos and set it on a much firmer foundation. It wasn't perfect then, and it isn't perfect now, but it is infinitely better than it was.

Reagan . . . well, I'll just say let's leave him in peace, and let it go at that.

During the Carter administration, Iran held many of our people hostage in the U.S. Embassy. I have no idea how everyone seem to have forgotten that Reagan traded many of our high class nuclear weapons to the same people who held our Americans hostage for months.
I wouldn't want to see Ronald Reagan's head on a glass of beer.
