Yeah. I think I write, as a guy, very good girl erotica from a girls standpoint. Conversely, I feel girls would write guy stuff better than guys.
I've written some stories putting myself in the girls shoes and I think it is very arousing.

I don't know. What do you guys think. Can you write the opposite sex better than you can about you own sex?

Heh, I often find that erotica written by a man from a woman's point of view is grossly inaccurate. That said, there have been a few exceptions where a man has captured the essence of a female character quite well.
Me, personally, I'm sure I write better from a female point of view.

jackolover,
You don't have any erotica submitted. Pardon me while my suspension bridge of disbelief comes falling down.

I think guys write shitty erotica from a women's stand point. But we write excellent porn. Very few women can really understand just how slutty we wish they were. We do love hearing them slurp on our cocks. We love girls who want in the ass and tell us stories about how they used to make out with their girlfriends for practice so on and so forth. I think that no woman could design Jenna Jameson, that came straight out of the mind of a man. So when you see lesbians who have two double headed dildos so their asses and cunts are filled as they simotaneously lap at saucers of cum. That was a guy. and girls just have a hard time capturing that.

On the flip though girls seem to write great erotica/romance stuff from the male pov. Granted we all come out acting like Leonardo De Caprio and Orlando Bloom but that is exactly what they like. Oh wait some of us are abusive and a few are the Rock or Vin Disiel. But that is about it but it is great erotica. But me personally, I love porn. Fuck a plot. All I want is Bang bang bang

i prefer to write erotica, not porn. :> i'm in the process of getting my first work edited through the volunteer editor program. whenever it gets approved (if at all), you can be the judge.

IMX however, sean's generally dead-on, at least WRT men trying to write from the woman's POV.

no boys here, only men.

I agree, writing female POV very tough. I think that's why I find third person harder than first ( from male POV)

I agree. I have written stories from both male and female POV and find the male much easier as i can feel what i write and yet i have written more stories from the female POV, probably because i write what i want them to feel.

I also find it much easier to write from the first person, in either male or female POV than in third person. When i write in third person i seem to end up writing from one person's point of view. Still it takes allsorts lol

That being said, would you allow me to E-mail you the story I've currently been working on? Mind you, it's not finished yet, but I am interested in getting your opinion of how I write porn. :)

And back on topic, I would have to agree that I feel males do not necessarily write well if they're trying to capture a female's point of view.

Sean: I think practically anyone can write good porn. It seems like it doesn't take much talent or imagination. I could write a completely vulgar and nasty story that had no plot and was just fucking - but so could anyone else.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be good...

Wish they were in fiction. Women who are half that 'slutty' in the real world seem to rarely receive appreciation for it.

That is very true. It seems men want to hear about someone else's girlfriend/wife, but shrink at the idea of their own in the same situations. I should be my boyfriend's greatest fantasy...but he only wants it online, not with me.

A good exercise, even if the result sucks

I've just submitted four 'links' in a chain story I wrote for a woman I dated earlier this year. She is a newspaper editor and very much appreciated that I write, but I never did manage to draw her out with a written response. I'm new, not sure how long it'll take to get approved, but they should show up in chain stories under "Rebecca's Challenge".

This being said and having read this thread I think I'm probably a lot closer to erotica than porn in what I produce, although there are pornographic moments. The Rebecca's Challenge series definitely shows the pornographic side at times, but this was appropriate given that we'd already been physically intimate and she expressed a strong interest in my writing.

Anyway, I think writing from a woman's point of view has made me a better lover and a better man - I'm more attentive, more into details I'd have missed before, and much more emotionally available. Maybe some of that can be chalked up to getting some distance from my divorce but I think quite a lot of my progress in certain areas can be chalked up to reading Anias Nin when no one is looking, brazenly picking up Cosmo while waiting in line at the grocery store, and meditating on these things from a woman's perspective. Just my inflation adjusted two cents on the matter.

Hey pal, just because I haven't had one of my submissions published yet, doesn't mean I haven't written anything. I have lots written, but I haven't submitted yet. If you want to have some, so you criticize, well I'm sorry there are none of my stories here for you.

Anyone can say they write good fiction. Hell, I could say that I'm a millionaire that's quit my job as an investment banker in order to become a stripper.

Of course you have nothing posted, it's easy to spew bull but it's hard to back it up.

*laughs* But the point was, mine wouldn't be any worse or any better than anyone else's.
Not that I can't enjoy complete depravity now and again, but still, I think thats best for me to leave to other writers.

True. But I'm not trying to prove it to you. You seem to think I have too.
Why don't you join the discussion instead of mouthing off ashole.

Discussion? The topic appears to be about a worthless piece of dross who thinks he's good at writing from a girl's point of view. I know you don't think you have to prove anything; I mean, think how much better would the world be if people just smiled and nodded whenever idiots like yourself opened their mouth.

Oh, and it's asshole. Rarely considered a difficult word to spell.

Come on, boys...play nice or I'll hafta call Risia to spank you. I think she'd enjoy that, but would you?
