Twelve-year-old Justin Peterson has raised more than $25,000 for the Honor Flight Program, an organization that flies World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. — at no cost to the vets — to see the war memorials. Last weekend, the Chewelah, Wash., boy was selling hamburgers during one of his regular fundraisers when he was rewarded with a $170 fine from a health inspector. A Tri County Health District spokesman said the boy didn't have the proper permit to sell food and that it wouldn't cut Justin any "slack" just because of his charitable efforts. Fortunately for both Peterson and the vets, the health department’s board members agreed to pay the fine for him.

A fine is not a warning, but I understand, you are logically stupid.

It's okay Koala. I love you too. If you ever go missing for a week I'll make sure I send people searching for you.;)

When you make 25k and they give you 170 dollar fine, not a 7000 dollar fine they gave you a polite "hey kid, make sure you fill out the paper work and do it right next time" warning. I'm certain that was no where near the maximum fine. Even if it was it's literally a drop in the bucket.

^^^NIGGER doesnt bother AXING

Paper work?

WHY THE FUCK DOES THERE GOTTA BE PAPER WORK FOR EVERYTHING?????????????????

Thats why he be a NIGGER:rolleyes:

There's that stupid logic again. ;)

One moral to this story is, if you give the money to a good cause, no one cares if they contract salmonella poisoning.

Another moral to this story is, if you are a public employee who does their job correctly, you won't ever be recognized for your good work unless it's in a news story about how you hate geriatric veterans.

Why do you hate them?

It could have possibly been this story:

Twelve-year-old Justin Peterson was selling hamburgers to raise funds for the Honor Flight Program, an organization that flies World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. — at no cost to the vets — to see the war memorials. However last weekend, the Chewelah, Wash., boy sold a hamburger to Mary Rottencrotch, how became ill and had to be hospitalized. Mary Rottencrotch was diagnosed with food poisoning from eating an undercooked hamburger.

Sheila Rottencrotch is upset that the county did not do a proper health inspection, and did not make Peterson buy a proper permit to sell food. Rottencrotch said the laws regarding permits for selling food are for the public's safety, regardless of the intention of the seller.

Just saying.

Added: I worked for a large retail company that had a manager decide it would be a good idea to sell hot dogs in front of the store for a fundraiser. He also did not get a proper permit, the fundraiser was a bust, the fine was more than the money raised, and he got disciplined from corporate.

A colleague who was at that store said the manager was not too concerned about the sanitary conditions of his event, and he wouldn't have bought or eaten a hot god.

Well, at least the kid got his fine paid. I bet he made a few vet friends as well.

In the near future, you will need carbon credits for that post. Just saying. :)

Boy Whose Hot Dog Stand Was Shut Down Now Homeless

Two weeks ago, the Mackinac Center (Michigan’s free-market think thank) produced a video about an entrepreneurial 13-year-old boy, Nathan Duszynski, whose hot dog stand was shut down by the local government.

Both of Mr. Duszynski’s parents are on disability, and he wanted to earn some money to help support them. His family took appropriate precautions; they had chosen a safe location and gone to city hall to file the necessary paperwork. The problem, though, was this industrious boy opened a food cart in the city’s commercial zone. Food carts are prohibited there, lest any of the local restaurants actually face competition. Perish the thought, I know.

Now, the Mackinac Center is reporting that the family is homeless:

The family receives about $1,300 a month in disability payments, Medicaid and food assistance. The three are having a hard time staying together. MLive confirms what the Mackinac Center learned Thursday — Nathan and his mother are staying at the Holland Rescue Mission.

“Nate and I are now in a shelter,” Lynette Johnson said. “Doug can’t stay with us because he takes prescription narcotics to deal with his pain [from multiple sclerosis] and the shelter does not allow him with those kinds of drugs.”

Conservatives should be ready with these kinds of stories that show the destructive qualities of big government and crony capitalism.

All he has to do is get rid of that Polish name. Change it to Lopez or some other mexican name and the family will be ok.
