Last month on the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s final appearance as Ziggy Stardust, I saw the remastered version of the documentary Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture.
It was great! I went to a matinee, there were at most 20 people there at most.
I love the whole album anyway.
Not sure what my favorite Bowie song is, but here’s one I like.
Moonage Daydream

What’s yours?

He was gorgeous when he was young.
Yes, among the people I knew his look was acceptable. Remember it was during the early days of prog, glam and everyone was doing it. I even have an old photo of Byron with the standard androgynous prog musician haircut, before he went back to long hair. He was blond, long and lean too. It helped to have good hair.
When the man who fell to earth came out, one of my besties got a Bowie do from the movie. She wasn’t alone.
Around 2:39

I was into Led Zeppelin rather than glitter rock, but I certainly appreciated his high notes whenever I was exposed to his music on AM radio. My favorite was probably Young American for that and the back-up singing. The other was probably Fame. I wasn't into his lyrics generally, but had some great lines, such as -"Time may change me, but I can't change time."

One of my favorite Christmas songs is his duet with Bing. Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy. Two voices with different lyrics blended so beautifully.

I was lucky to see him perform live and he was even more engaging than his screen appearances.

Life On Mars? has fair claim to be the greatest song ever written, I think.

He did Space Oddity, so I know he could write and play music. I never got into his glam stuff. I have an impression it's hair metal without the metal.

I saw him during the Glass Spider tour. With Peter Frampton playing guitar.
