What is the point? When did this phenom start? Why does everyone need to carry their own little supply of fluids? Are we that thirsty?

Damn...just damn.

Are they that thirsty?

Yes they are. :D

I'd rather suck on a bottle of imported water that costs me a 1.99 then to drink from the tap of the places around here. Ewww thats just sick......

all bottled water is just tap water from somewhere else, and according to some survey somewhere i read once, its usually not as "clean" as the local stuff...... unless of course you live in boston... the water up there truly does stink

Morning Tiggs, and Mistress, that's my point. In my day, we travelled 5 miles down the hall uphill both ways just to suck at a fountain that the general population used and we were GRATEFUL! We didn't know that water sucked til we started importing glacier water.

There's only certian brands of bottled water I'll drink and it tastes better then someof the tap you get here. My tap water isn't that bad of taste though because we have a filter over it.

Hehehe, see, I thought the water sucked, thats why I never drank it at all as I was growing up. MY Grandparents were glad when I started drinking bottled water because I was actually drinking it then. :)

I drink it. I approach the water supply here with the same caution that I excercise in a third world country, but then I haul my water in and put it into a holding tank. Okay to bathe in, but...

I do it because it helps keep the weight thing into perspective. Only reason, I'm not the bottled water type. I'd prefer a mustang over a BMW, a secluded cabin in the woods to a multi-million dollar estate...........I prefer the simple things.........

If I had water constantly around, I would not carry the bottled stuff unless my water supply was polluted, of course!

I prefer a horse to a mustang ;) and I do live a very simple life in a very simple place, which is a good thing for a very simple person, eh? :)

Maybe if the government would pay me to carry a bottle around and NOT drink it...

I could be on the dole.

I drink bottled seltzer water (not the ones with added sugar).
I just love the fizz.

I also like Philly water...you can bite through it. Yum.

One thing about Philly, if you put it on a bun and sell it on a street corner, it will sell.

The only bottled water that I will drink is Aquafina. Our tapwater tastes pretty gross even with the fliter, and any other bottled water leaves a funny aftertaste in my mouth.

I drink alot of water, and I usually have a bottle of it with me because it deters me from smoking as much when I have the bottle on me to sip from.

I forgot all about Dasani! I bought some at JFK during my layover and I liked it just as much as Aquafina.

well.... you can hand me a big old glass of well water anyday... as long as it isnt orange of course... the iron in it just doesnt taste that good

Doesn't taste good and it can do some major damage to clothing.

I agree,,, the bottled water is mainly about how we want people to perceive us,,,

And yes, I agree, that some cities water is pretty bad and chock full of chemicals,,, so in that case it is not just about perception

For all of you that think your (any) bottled water is safer than your tap water, I urge you to read this:

http://www.nrdc.org/water/drinking/nbw.asp

Pay special attention to the table showing FDA and EPA rules on testing bottled vs. tap water.

Unless you are doing it for taste and/or have test results showing it's purity, you are throwing good money away on bottled water.

Bottled water costs from 240 to 10,000 times as much as tap water.

I drink bottled water, byut mostly I just use the container to fill with tap water so that I can carry it around with me. I should just use my biking water bottle, but it's so bulky. Not only that, but where I live, there's a lot of chlorine in the water, so it dehydrates your body more than purified water does! So, do I pass?

I'll take chlorine over E. coli any day.

And if you are drinking water, how does it dehydrate you?

Sounds a little like eating a four course meal and ending up hungrier than when you sat down...

The water up here is nasty. You can taste all of the chemicals EEEEEEW

I prefer well water... or spring water from an actual spring... but its hard to come by clean........
