I can't be the only to experience Lit's growth in bots.
So many "women" title their PMs "Hello." Original.
And the one-line message? "How are you?" That's a conversation starter!
My real question is: How many guys fall for this shit?
I hope I've never sent such shallow, phishing-like PMs to women here on Lit. If I have, those women can take comfort knowing I'm getting it thrown back in my face.

I do hate getting those vapid one-word or one-line messages. I never respond, it's not worth the time or effort to even reply with the same amount of laziness. I imagine those men send those lame messages to anyone they think has a pulse and hope they'll get some e-pussy out of it.

A lot of men respond, a lot. At least to the ones that start a thread. As for DM's I have no idea. I get one of those I immediately block and delete. I hesitate to respond to anyone on DM unless they have plenty of posts and been here for a while.

Yeah, I got two in the past day.
Second one actually posted twice, unusual for a bot since they usually have zero posts, but then when I asked why they wanted to talk to me
they replied to me like we've spoken before. Clearly we hadn't. :p
A good indicator is when a relatively new user has followed 100s of people, including you, despite their lack of interaction with anyone.

I think most of mine have been fishing bots, who try to get an alternative contact method as soon as possible so that they can hand you off to a human for more careful catfishing -- maybe they have AIs doing it now. I think they're still a little touchy for a scammer to entrust prospective cash cows to, but I guess they could make up for that with volume.

I haven't received any bots. But have gotten some strange DM which yes I've blocked. As far as 1 or2 word responses. Its not just guys who do that some women also respond like that. Frustrating.
