It's that time of the year again, and colleges are buying back their books... I'm hoping that I get a bit back. I need to go X-Mass shopping with that money, spent $400 on the books too.

I remember those days!

Ahhhhhhh those were the days!
I remember book buyback time at the end of the
semester quite well.....I remember at times it was
great because I got good money back, and there were
times that I got so little or nothing for certain books.
I think that the max I've spent on books for one
semester in my entire college career was around $500
something. I recall using the money for "extra" pocket
money for holiday gifts....and spring semester I would
use it for going out ......

My college generally starts at half of the original price, then starts taking money off for condition. It was not the best deal in town, but Off Campus Books went bust last semester, so its the ONLY game in town now.

Ouch......sorry to hear that! I can't remember how my college
did the starting price (i.e. 1/2 the orig. price, etc.).....I also
recall in the town where my college was in that had a couple
of bookstores that bought used books....but I never did do that
cuz I didn't have the time......
