Jeremiah was in his senior year at Ringwood, a member of the Championship team and although he did not score the winning touchdown, it was his tackle that prevented those morons from Davis from equaling the score in the last seconds, life was good and he didn't mind the attention and with the Summer break looming his mind was now starting to look towards better things. He tried not to think of his grades, they weren’t awful but far from as good as he needed them to be. He sat at the back of the class listening to the details of this bullshit assignment that the teacher was handing them... He was far from impressed with the geeky bookworm he was being paired with.

**Writing partner has abandoned the story.... Sigh**

Andrea was the brainy one in her graduating class, she always had her nose in some book. She had a perfect GPA and her choice of any college across the country. She knew that summer was coming but she wasnt really looking forward to it. She liked being in class filling her mind with new information and 2 months of no classes was something she found extremely boring. She was sitting in history class, reading a book and listening to the teacher at the same time. The teacher metioned a final project that they had to do in partners. She looked up at the board where all the partners were listed and found her name next to the king jocks. She groaned inwardly and roled her eyes. great now I dont have a partner that will even pretend to help with the project.

The teacher let them out early so that they could get started on their projects. Andrea packed up her belongings, grabbed her book and started walking toward the door as she read.

Jeremiah attempted to look at the bright side of the project, at least this was going to help his grades. Knowing his luck though the geek would end up taking all the credit and he'd be left back at square one again. He'd had enough trouble with the moronic history teacher as it was. For a moment he sat there, trying to figure out how best to approach this, atleast for the next week or so he had to make sure he could get along with her, not an easy task but surely she'd just be dying to spend time with a star footballer? He had already seen some looks from others who were disappointed but those girls were not going to help him.

And so as Andrea left he hurried out after her, trying to make sure it wasnt too obvious that it was her he was chasing after.

"Andrea.. Andrea.."

She was so into her book that she didnt hear her name being called. she kept walking her nose in her book.

Jeremiah looked around to his left and right as he followed her, I mean a man of his reputation had to be careful you know. But then this was important, so carefully he reached out and grabbed her shoulder.

"Dammit Andrea!"

"What the hell!" she yelled as she was spun around making her drop her book. She glared up at the person who spun her. "What do you want Jeremiah" She bent over to grab her book that fell.

Jeremiah was left a little shocked for a moment, no one spoke to him that way. Least of all a bookworm, he smiled enjoying the change. Jeremiah knelt down to help.

"I just wanted to discuss the assignment. I kind very need this for my scholarship. I'm wondering when you'd like to get together and start working on it. "

"yeah because mr bonehead jock is so eager to start a project. i live right next to you, you could have waited till after school. instead of making me drop my book and lose my place." She snatched her books from him and turned to walk away.

"be at my house by 730" she said loudly over her shoulder making sure everyone in the hall could hear, then added "or your on your own" She hoped that people would take it the wrong way and he would drop down on the social latter a few notches. She doesnt care that she isnt popular but she thought he needed to be taken down some.

Jeremiah nodded in agreement. Taken back once again by the way she spoke to him. It was almost like she wasn't looking forward to this, seemed very odd. He wasn't used to people not wanting his attention. There was something about this girl, an attitude he wasn't used to seeing. Something he couldn't shake from his mind all the way home.

7:30 seemed to take forever to arrive, he had his mind sorted d by the time he reached her front door. He needed to con entreated on the assignment and forget about how she was speaking to him...
