Hi, I am an aspiring writer and somewhat mesmerized by a woman in pantyhose and heels. I have decided to combine the two and put together a book on the pantyhose fetish.

A portion of this book will be dedicated to comments from men and women and what they think about pantyhose and stockings in relation to sex. Real life experiences would be great as well.

For the record, my book is comprehensive and will encompass history, associations, quotes and comments from real people, possible causes or reasons for the development of the particular fetish, and will also include a handful of erotic short stories. It is the first in a scheduled series. I already have models and a photographer lined up for pictures. They must be of a certain standard for publication, so I am not requesting photos.

From a visual aspect I must agree, but one of the benefits derived from pantyhose over stockings was how the pantyhose allowed women's fashion to usher in the micro mini skirt. No concerns with showing the tops of the stockings. Obviously today showing the tops of the stockings and even the garters is no longer an issue, but then so few women wear either.

Personally, I find hose irritating because it's really incompatible with having unshaven legs, and I hate the social pressure on women to shave their legs. What a stupid custom.

But, what I actually wanted to say is I think the appeal of hose may arise from the fact that it makes a person look like they are not made of flesh (and fur) but instead they are like a living statue. A symbol of perfection beyond human, or perhaps a symbol of something artistically wrought, representing the virtues of intention, organization, and aesthetic taste. The shininess of the nylon (or whatever) is probably the pattern recognition trigger, although there also seems to be some interest attached to the idea of a seam going up the back of the leg.

Can you share some of the history so far? Who are you publishing with? You mentioned it's part of a scheduled series. What's your timeline looking like? Have you collected many quotes yet?

The quotes and shared personal experiences seem to be difficult to come by, but they are coming along.

An interesting point in history that I like is on the history of the nylon stocking itself rather than the fetish. Nylon stockings as you probably know replaced silk shortly before WWII. They were so popular with the ladies that at first it was difficult to keep them on the shelves, and then with the war they became extremely rare. Nylon was diverted to support the war effort. This is why a soldier with a pair of nylons in his pocket was popular with the ladies. Once the war was over and the stockings hit the shelves, as many as 40,000 women would line up to buy nylons, with of course not that many on the shelf to go around.
