Hey all, this is not my normal forum so please forgive me if I am asking a verboten question. I am looking for suggestions for books that would make easy-reads for novice female dominants who do not like the S&M side of BDSM. In other words, books that introduce and explain the D/s lifestyle (and lifestyling) from a purely D/s aspect without whipping, CBT, tit-torture etc. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.

I don't know about books, but i'd suggest takeninhand.com. It's actually a M/f oriented site, but I'm sure with a little imagination you can turn it around to work for you and yours.

When Someone You Love is Kinky is about the most non-threatening explination of BDSM I've come across; The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners is (IMO) a wonderful "starter" book for someone who isn't quite sure what to do. Another good book is The New Topping Book.

All should be available at amazon.com or through www.greenerypress.com.

:)

The Loving Dominant is really good.

(I edited dominate to dominant for you... "The Dominant dominates their submissive; submissives allow themselves to be dominated by their Dominant." No offense meant... I'm just a twitchy language person... )

THank you for all your suggestions so far. While I research those, please let me know if you have any others anyone.

Actually, there is a new edition out...The (New and Improved) Loving Dominant

I think that's the 3rd edition. John Warren posts on collarme every so often, and he mentioned a few months ago that they were putting out the 3rd - mostly correcting typos, but I think he was updating information with regards to internet, etc, as well.

Thank you! Brain fart :)

Thanks all, I've put in an order for the Loving Dominant and The Sexually Dominant Woman. I think they might be the best from what their write-ups say. I didn't order the topping book as I think I read somewhere that it's a good intro to S&M, which would terrify the woman I'm thinking of. Again, I truly appreciated the feedback.
