Let's follow your syllogistic argument whereby you aver that an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. Presumably by analogy, you would point out that if I'm driving a motor vehicle over the posted speed limit and thereby, I've broken the law. In such instance I'm not really considered a criminal as a result; it's merely a civil offense. Fair enough, but you don't carry such analogy to its ultimate logic conclusion. If I am caught speeding, the police officer will issue me a ticket and I will have to pay a fine, and in my jurisdiction, I'll lose points as well, where accumulation of same can ultimately cause my driver's license to be suspended. And I cannot surely attract any sympathy for my plight. Now on the other hand, the penalty for being an undocumented immigrant if caught is deportation, a more severe penalty to be sure.![]()
An undocumented immigrant is not for that reason a criminal.
Perhaps that in their foolish compassion is the justification for these sanctuary cities to neglect to report to ICE when they have an undocumented immigrant in custody who has been arrested for an unrelated crime. Now, that is being oblivious of why the relevant laws are in the books in the first place. To state the obvious, the reason speeding is unlawful is because it increases the incidences of motor vehicle accidents, which in turn may cause property damage as well as possible bodily injury even death. Likewise, by not following the federal immigration laws, which are presently in force, and aside from ignoring the question of how high is the number of legitimate allowable immigrants the United States can possibly absorb, it is axiomatic that undesirable immigrants could pass through without proper vetting. As a result, there was an absence of identifying unsuitable immigrants allowed into our country especially during Biden's administration. The incident of the murder of Lakin Riley is just one of the most egregious example of the sinister lack of really true compassion exhibited by the Democratic party, and their faithful acolytes, the legacy media.
One final point; in a previous posting I identified you as an unfortunate sufferer of TDS. I have good news for you in that it is not a lethal disease. There is a cure! Just refrain from avoiding paying attention to the legacy media. If you do that, not only will you view politics of the United States differently, but you might even become an interesting drinking companion in a tavern.
