There is a reason a boar's head is served prominently at feasts. Very dangerous animal to hunt with horses, spears and dogs. There is even a special boar spear that stops the animal from running up the shaft to get at you.
Males attack with upward thrust of head causing massive wounds to upper legs and groin area (femoral artery probably) with tusks. Females as vicious but lacking tusks go for lower leg bites (oh yes so much better).
Anglo-saxon (hell all Brit Isles +) symbol of strength and fertility. Can't go wrong as a totem.
