My fiancee doesn't ask me to, but to be fair I have a tendency to have two, occassionally three showers a day (sometimes four depending on how weird I am that day) and even then, if I know something's going to happen I quickly sneak of to the bathroom and give myself a quick wash for a few minutes just in case. HAha, well it's one serious shower in the morning, takes about 10-15 minutes given the length and thickness of my hair (I think it's pushing on 2' 6" right now) followed by 1-3 pretty quick showers, maybe no longer than 2 minutes each. So overall I only spend, what 12-21 minutes in the shower every day, which isn't too bad. When I was living in student accomodation in my first year, water was included in the rent and I used to half 30-45 minute long showers just for the hell of it. If you have essentially free water then why not (ab)use it (granted, that comes alongside the "well what about the lack of water in a lot of Africa" discussion which is why I stopped doing that towards the end)
