You would be very wrong about that, Blobby.
And they're not Alaskan words, they're mushing words.![]()
But dog sleds are inextricably linked to Alaska, like Sarah Palin and donut shops.

Donut shops??!! I'll give you the dog sledding, but it's not exclusive. Even Jamaica has a musher!

In this thread, I'm going to post things that I find interesting. If you don't like them, then you are a philistine caveman.
We begin with the Dictionnaire Infernal. Originally published in French in 1818, this large volume describes the various demons of Hell. It is mostly known for the beautiful, grotesque illustrations that were first included in the 1863 edition. The following link is just illustrations with none of the accompanying text. I'll try to find some better quality scans in the future.

This link has fewer images, but they are higher resolution.

The illustrations of Ivan Bilibin, the Russian illustrator. He's known mostly for his art nouveau illustrations of Russian fairy tales.

The films of Segundo de Chomón. Though he's not as well known as his contemporary, Georges Méliès, his films are arguably their aesthetic equal.

The Norge - an Italian-built airship that is believed to have been the first manned aircraft to fly over the North Pole, in 1926. It was an expedition planned by none other than Roald Amundsen!

Quoting all my cool shit so you don't have to read through the thread.
I see you only quote YOUR cool shit.![]()
That's because my shit doesn't stink.
Wow, that is cool!
Let's bareback a bit.![]()
I ha'd.
Escher drawings, at least, would have been more educational.
