Maricopa County won't reuse subpoenaed ballot counters

Maricopa County announces it will not use any of the voting equipment
that has been in the hands of Cyber Ninjas again.

County was required under subpoenas to give most of the $6 million
in equipment it leases from Dominion to the Senate for the audit.

"The voters of Maricopa County can rest assured, the County will never use equipment
that could pose a risk to free and fair elections. The County recognizes Secretary Hobbs'
authority under A.R.S. § 16-442 to certify equipment for use in Arizona’s elections.
As a result, the County will not use the subpoenaed equipment in any future elections,"
the county said in a statement on Monday.

Local reporters noted on Monday the Arizona Senate agreed in April that Maricopa
County would not have to pay for damages or any costs of replacing machines, and
a spokesperson said it "hasn't been decided" whether the county will seek
reimbursement.

The machines took a ride in a truck to a barn in Montana, next to the CEo's cabin
in the middle of fucking nowhere.

What appeared to be political squabbles between a small Left wing group, and
a smaller Right wing group plays out on Boston Common. Boston police babysit
them,and keep them apart. Bicycles, a thin plastic fence.

Pre-Antifa students confronted a formerly-Republican student that attended
Fitchburg State University, for using free speech as a Trojan Horse for MAGA
fascists. Some of the early members of the North East Free Speech Coalition
(tiny group) may have held ideals of Libertarians, but the true nature of close
association, resulted in the worst MAGA trolling the minority communities of
Massachusetts, on Boston Common.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh pointed out that some of those invited to speak
“spew hate.” Kyle Chapman, who described himself on Facebook as a
“proud American nationalist,” said he will attend.

“They have the right to gather no matter how repugnant their views are,” Walsh said.
“We’re going to respect their right of free speech. In return they must respect our city.”

The confrontation on Boston Common appeared to be a trolling joke played by MAGA
against the minority communities of Massachusetts. Not many speakers showed up,
those that did not drop out were ill prepared, did not bring equiptment. Did not bother
to have written speeches. Disorganized. They rode in on the backs of Boston police,
and rode out that way, too. The dirty little skunk that invited MAGA sneaked away.

MAGA were chased out by the sheer numbers of people that protested against the racism
of MAGA.

Boston ‘free speech’ rally ends early amid flood of counterprotesters

In anticipation of potential violence, city officials corralled more than 500 police
officers onto the Common, installed security cameras and constructed elaborate
barriers to separate the free-speech rally from the massive demonstration in
opposition to it.

40,000 people participated in the counter protest, 20,000 of whom participated in a
march across town.

Who lost out ? Libertarians, that had high ideals. Then, again, nothing remains pure,

CrowdTangle, a wonky subject with big implications for politics and media.
The takeaway:
After Roose and other journalists used the tool to show how right-wing media
Facebook engagement, the company got spooked about how it looked —
and we could start having a lot less transparency going forward.

“On one side were executives … who argued that Facebook should publicly share as
much information as possible about what happens on its platform — good, bad or ugly.
On the other side were executives …
who worried that Facebook was already giving away too much,” Roose writes.
“They argued that journalists and researchers were using CrowdTangle …
to dig up information they considered unhelpful — showing, for example,
that right-wing commentators like BEN SHAPIRO and DAN BONGINO
were getting much more engagement on their Facebook pages than mainstream
news outlets. These executives argued that Facebook should selectively disclose
own data in the form of carefully curated reports, rather than handing outsiders
the tools to discover it themselves.
