Trump Loyalist, Rep. Glenn Grothman, racist

On Wednesday, Plaskett was in a position to address a shocking statement made by…
you guessed it, MAGA Republican Glenn Grothman from Wisconsin during a debate
on the COVID relief bill. Grothman made an obscene comment.

“How dare you!”

“How dare do you say Black Lives Matter, Black people do not understand
old-fashioned family?” she exclaimed, her voice cracking with passion.
“We have been able to keep our families alive for over 400 years,”
she continued, “and the assault on our families could not have
black lives or black families.”

“That is outrageous and that should be stricken down,” she continued,
before yielding back to partisan applause.

Pfizer vaccine has 25 cases of blood clots in 11 million doses

Pfizer's partner BioNTech received $445 million from German government -
“Pfizer, unlike its competitors, did not join Operation Warp Speed, the government
initiative designed to erase the financial risk of vaccine and therapeutics development
by providing funding to companies and helping coordinate the trials,” The Washington
Post’s Carolyn Y. Johnson reported Monday. “Instead, Pfizer plowed $2 billion of its
own money into the project and then struck a $1.95 billion contract with the U.S.
government to provide 100 million doses, contingent on the vaccine being
effective.”

AstraZeneca has more cases of blood clots, but not by many.

The AstraZeneca vaccine, made in conjunction with the University of Oxford,
is not authorized in the United States.

Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine is currently authorized only for people 18 and older.

A Georgia sheriff’s spokesperson —
whose tone deaf statement appeared to downplay the gruesome actions of an alleged
Atlanta shooting suspect accused of killing eight and wounded another —
had previously posted an image to Facebook that played up nativist fears about Covid-19.

According to a BuzzFeed report, Cherokee County Capt. Jay Baker shared a picture

(pic of said T-shirts ) of several piles of T-shirts last April that featured a biohazard sign
above a mock Corona beer logo reading “Covid 19 Imported Virus from Chy-na.”
In the caption of the post, which has since been deleted after BuzzFeed inquired
about it, Baker reportedly wrote “Love my shirt [name redacted by BuzzFeed] !

Police Captain Capt. Jay Baker’s background briefing instantly ignited a backlash
for his comments after initial interviews with the suspect. Baker said that the suspect
was “fed up, at the end of his rope, and yesterday was a really bad day for him and this
is what he did.”

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals gave very short shrift to Gohmert's legal effort,

38-year-old Fantahun Girma Woldesenbet, is dead

A Navy medic shot and wounded two U.S. sailors at a military facility Tuesday,
then fled to a nearby Army base where security forces shot and killed him, police
and Navy officials said.

Woldesenbet shot the sailors with a rifle inside the facility at the Riverside Tech Park
on Tuesday morning, causing people inside to flee, said Frederick Police Chief Jason
Lando.

https://www.boston.com/news/crime/2...hoots-2-u-s-sailors-is-stopped-killed-on-base

Woldesenbet, a Navy medic assigned to Fort Detrick but who lived in town, then drove
to the base, where gate guards who had been given advance notice told him to pull over
for a search, said Brig. Gen. Michael J. Talley. But Woldesenbet immediately sped off
making it about a half-mile into the installation before he was stopped at a parking lot
by the base’s police force. When he pulled out a weapon, the police shot and killed him,
Talley (Gen. Michael J. Talley) said.

- Michael Kunzelman in College Park, Maryland
- Ben Finley in Norfolk, Virginia
- Jonathan Drew in Durham, North Carolina

Fort Detrick is home to the military’s flagship biological defense laboratory
and several federal civilian biodefense labs. About 10,000 military personnel
and civilians work on the base, which encompasses about 1,300 acres (526 hectares)
in the city of Frederick.

The base is a huge economic driver in the region, drawing scientists, military personnel
and their families.

Police cordoned off Woldesenbet’s garden-style apartment building in Frederick City,
a few miles from the site of the shooting.

A neighbor, Ava Target, said she knew Woldesenbet only by sight, and that he lived on
the top floor of the apartment complex with a wife and two kids. She wasn’t aware of
any problems.

Another neighbor who would only identify herself by her first name, Rachel, said she saw
police escort Woldesenbet’s wife and two young children from the apartment building
Tuesday afternoon.

Cancel all the tours, football's fake applause

Looking out from these prison walls

But it's easy easy
Everything's gonna get really freaky
Alright on the night
Soon it'll be be a memory you're trying to remember to forget

That's a pretty mask
But never take a chance TikTok stupid dance
Took a samba class yeah I landed on my ass
Trying to write a tune you better hook me up to Zoom
See my poncey books teach myself to cook
Way too much TV, its lobotomizing me, yeah
Think I've put on weight
I'll have another drink then I'll clean the kitchen sink

We escaped from the prison walls
Open the windows and open the doors
But it's easy easy
Everything's gonna get really freaky
Alright on the night
It's gonna be a garden of earthly delights
Yeah it's easy sleazy
Everything's smooth and greasy

It's mind control
The earth is flat and cold
It's never warming up

Now we're out of these prison walls
You gotta pay Peter if you're robbing Paul

Maxine Waters to Jim Jordan at Fauci Hearing: 'Shut Your Mouth'

April 15 2021

- Neal Broverman

An exchange between arch-conservative Congressman Jim Jordan and Dr. Anthony Fauci
chief medical adviser to the president and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's
COVID-19 expert, devolved into rancor during a House hearing on Thursday.

The hearing on the nation's COVID response was hijacked by Trump ally, Jim Jordan

Throughout the exchange, Jordan continuously spoke over Fauci and committee chairman
Jim Clyburn and then went over his alotted time, talking over a Democratic congresswoman
who was next in line for a question. Congresswoman Maxine Waters — not shy in standing
up to the bullying tactics of Republicans like Jordan — stepped in.

"You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth," she told Jordan.

Finally, Dr. Fauci told Jordan, "You're making this a personal thing and it isn't."

Rep. Maxine Waters tells Jim Jordan three words we've all wanted someone to say

April 15, 2021

Rep. Jim Jordan wanted to make this personal because
he really didn’t want it to be about the facts.

When will life return to “normal,” Jordan claimed to want to know—
and he made clear that he thought Fauci is to blame for the lack of normalcy.
Never mind the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, never mind the
governors, never mind the still-raging pandemic that’s killing around 700 people
per day.

Fauci was attempting to emphasize the importance of widespread vaccination
to drive downCOVID-19 rates and get to the state of normalcy Jordan kept talking
about, but Jordan was more interested in interrupting.

”Your time expired, sir,” Maxine Waters finally snapped.

“You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth.”

Daily Kos

During a hearing today from the House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis,
Rep. Jim Jordan was so nasty to Dr. Anthony Fauci and Chairman Jim Clyburn
that Rep. Maxine Waters had enough, telling him to respect that chair and
"shut your mouth."
