Bleeding during masturbation

Sometimes when I masturbate, I start bleeding. It doesn't hurt at all, and I think its because of my nails, but its kinda freaky! Any advice, or anyone else have this happen?

I've two or three times managed to accidentally scratch myself enough that there's a little blood. It doesn't usually hurt at the time but it hurts afterward. Using more lube might help, but yeah, it's probably your fingernails unless you have some toy that has a rough or sticky texture to it, that can also cause little tears due to too much friction. Especially when you are due for a period soon.

If it's possible the bleeding is not from an injury like a scratch, you need to have it checked out by your gynecologist because it could be a sign that something else is going on.

It is difficult to say what is causing your bleeding but if I had to guess, I would say it is resulting from a minor skin tear. What is causing it? You make reference to your nails and that can be an issue, especially if you have any rough or sharp edges. Another issue can be not enough lubrication. This can be an issue if your skin is dry and it gets irritated from the friction caused from masturbating. Though your question does not state it, if you are using a vibrator for example, that could be causing some irritation that is leading to your bleeding or you are using a toy without using it properly. If you have tried a few things and this issue does not resolve itself then it could be a medical issue that should be investigated by your gp or gynecologist.
