I just saw this movie last night and I was really impressed with it. Sure not as much story involvement as the first but a lot more action. And Wesley Snipes...well mrooooow  So did anyone else see it and what did you think of it?

I liked it.....it had some real inconsistencies, things that I find it hard to ignore even in an action movie but overall it was fresh and tight.
It was a good action flick......but it had the potential to be a great action drama....it breaks my heart. But I guess even in the comics blade was always Shaft the Vampire Hunter, rather 2-dimensional. (heeheehe....."Afro-tooth" :)

The threat in the movie never seemed real to me....those who have seen the flick know what I mean....
Plus the physics of the live actors versus those of the CG actors was pretty bad...I can overlook things not 'looking real' (let's face it, they aren't real) but at least keep the basic physics consistant...

Overall - Good, gross and fun but FULL of lost potential. I give it 3 rigid members out of 5.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what part three is like. You know what they showed a trailer for? "Jason X".....that one looks really bad! He's some kind of bad ass cyborg who "came back for his machete" *groan*

hahaha......I saw that trailer in front of Resident Evil. Now THAT is a movie that I could forgive crappy plot and effects on :)
I actually was getting into it...all that metal playing in the background..and those high-schoolers who seem to remember all about an event at some little summer camp that chronologcally was probably 200 years prior.
Oh wait.....I forgot, jason DID take manhattan at one point...

Didn't he have a machete even after he was mechanized?

that was too funny... :)

After seeing that trailer, my friend turned to me and asked "What's next? Freddy?". I'm wondering what's bringing back these old crappy movies.

My wife saw Blade II without me (sigh) and she loved it. We are both big fans of Wesley Snipes and the original blade. She thought that the effects were great. Its funny that you mentioned the trailer for Jason, because so did she. She told me that people in the theater were laughing when the trailer came on.

P.S. Anyone in the Connecticut area want to go see it with me?

I saw it last night, and while there were some flaws with the special effects, I did like it. It was what it promised to be, a vampire gore flick. I WANT to see Resident Evil (which supposedly has a plot).

The Trailer for Jason X looks like it has an interesting basis, if you want high budget, high drama, odd B movie.

I saw blade II, and thought it was pretty kick ass!!! I did notice the poor special effects at one point, especially when the vampire ninjas snuck into blade's hideout. It had a few plot turns, some more predictable then others.
But all in all it was a fun movie, I wouldn't recomend going to go see it to see a serious movie, but to go see a fun one I would say yes.

I saw it last week, and I hated it. I'm a HUGE fan of Blade (I've seen the first one like, 25 times), and of all Vampyre works... but this one, I thought, had very little story line, and not enough justification for the gore.. I mean, yes, it's a vampyre movie, but still.. I just came away from it with a less-than-impressed feeling.

i saw it opening day. I liked it but like everyone else said the story line wasnt all there. Some special effects were bad. Like at the end when he catches the sunglasses, and then fights the other vampir. They are bouncing all over and the glasses never fall off. He also beats up a whole room of vampirs with his bare hands. He's as strong as a vampir, not 10x stronger.

all in all, i give it a 7 of 10. the action i would give 10 of 10.

Actually, Freddy vs. Jason has already been scripted and is in production *groan*

didn't they already do that?

I think the next two are "Freedy Cuts Himself Shaving" and "Jason Performs His Own Circumcision".

ROFLMFAO

Maybe that is the only way they will go away for ever.

I'd love to see them disappear for good. There was only one series I liked and that was Hellraiser. Of course after the first two, they went to hell :D I never even bothered watching the last one....I figured it would be a mess.

I'm thinking I should have started a bad horror movie thread. Then we could throw "Halloween Resurrection" in there ;)

have to agree with you guys.....the action was really good. The story was weak....the action for the most part was really very good. All in all I enjoyed it.....I think it ranks on the same level as the first, almost. Comparing the two this one has better overall action and the first a better overalll story.

Blondgirl.....that was pricless.

Sabbathstorm......Hellraiser was pretty good, I like the first Candyman movie too.

Hellraiser was an awesome series in the beginning. I still have the heebie jeebies when I see the first one. Candyman is one of my SO's favorite, and I liked it as well. The actor who played Candyman was sooo menacing.

Eh, I saw Blade II opening night. I am a fan of the vampire flicks.. but this one was just not that great, IMO. The first Blade was completely awesome... and there wasn't that much gore. You don't need gore to make a movie. I personally felt that the gore in the second one was unnecessary. It was a pretty good movie, I guess.... but the story sucked, as well as some of the special effects. IMO, they made it out to look cooler and with more importance in the trailer than the actual movie. I hate that.

Chalk that up to reason # 2,221 of why Kevin Williamson should die a bloody and tragic death before he writes or directs anything else.

The one movie he's been associated with that I kind of digged, that being Scream, was somehow turned on it's head. Instead of the message that "Smart and funny movies that are a quarter turn on old conventions are popular" what studio execs got was "We can make money on teen slasher flicks again"

So we get Urban Legends, Valentine, Freddy learns how to fix old mowers and of course, Jason takes Freddy(now, try getting that image out of your head)

BTW Williamson is partly to blame for his message being misinterpreted. Scream 2 and 3, need I say more?

haven't seen it yet, can't wait though. Everyone seems to forget Blade was originally a spider-man villian.

Jason vs Freddy and Alien vs Preadator have been in production for years but has shown a little bit of activity in the past year. The studio is seeing how Jason X does, if it does well they'll film J vs F if not then they'll shelve it.

Williamson didn't have anyting to do with Scream 3, I think.
