I feel for ya. I ain't had one in years (Knock on wood) but I remember the pain.

this is my 4th. but all the previous ones went rather quickly. Not without sending me to the emergency room first!

This is larger than the others..and perhaps more jagged?

There is a procedure now, where they break them up with sound waves.

Speaking of the "diet" portion of the thread title...

This urologist was not as concerned about specific foods so much... mostloy about moderation and plenty of water to dilute the "bad" stuff and keep the kidneys flushed out.

The key I found was water and not sodas. Beer is even better for flushing the kidneys. no pun intended. :D

Sinc eI cut down my calcium intake by 1/3 and increased my water intake by four or five, I haven't had any kidney stone problems in seven or eight years.

Itoo, have decreased my soda pop intake and increased my water consumption since the last stone. Unfortunately, the current one was already formed and documented on the xray last time... it just finally decided to let loose. No otheres were seen IN the kidney...so..... maybe.... this will be the last. HahahahaHAHhahaHAHha! *ack*
